If you had any clue about the workings behind an airport the size of Miami, you would not be complaining. The reasons for the charges for the bags and the food on the airlines, is because of the prices of fuel, the cost of the employees, and the cost of making the food. Everyone has to get paid, including the guy that signs the checks for the airlines. Unlike in other countries.

Well, my inlaws live about a 15 minute drive from Manchester Airport. So, the last couple flights we went up a day a head. It is only a two hour train from London to their home. Fro my house to Heathrow it is nearly an hour and a half on public transport (into central London then the tube..little bit less if using Heathrow express but then I have to get further into Central London). Gatwick is an easier airport once you are there but that is also about an hour by public transport. I live within easy reach of London City airport but there aren't any direct flights to the States from there.

The immigration line, luggage, etc has been so much easier at the Manchester airport if we can do it we will. Plus, if we drive up we can leave our dogs with his folks and get free puppy sitting. Seriously, Heathrow is a pain just to get around.

We go into Wigan (closer to his parents) and it takes two hours and super easy.

The airport of Miami is a disaster and t has an effect on the people working there. The moment I get of the plane I always try to get drunk instantly. I can not take that shit when I am sober.

btw - i have been to Antigua Airport which is basically a wooden barn next to something which looks like an abondoned road with potholes that they call runway. they don't have gates and you have to walk from the "main building" to the plane by foot.

but at least you don't have to look for the right terminal since there is only one exit

Part of the issue was the airline you took. Most airlines do not charge to check bags or for sandwiches. Air travel in general is shitty right now. I just flew through Madrid and they have a nice huge clean airport and it still sucked do the constant security checks.

I am wondering, while reading this thread, why people are flying into Miami International instead of the Ft Laud/Hollywood International airport???

From the UK, at least, Miami is a direct flight on just about every scheduled airline. Ft Lauderdale is an airport that is more used by charter flights used by the package holiday companies.

You are killing your own argument, israel has shitloads of bombs and yet they still have a nice airport . Although most of the bombs they throw are donations anyways so all we need to do is shrink our population, collect billions in donations , beg for some bombs and invest in airports :thumbsup

I look nothing like Middle Eastern cause my parents from Eastern Europe,and I wasnt talking about bad treatment toward myself. All the passengers regardless of race, color etc were treated in the same bad way.

I lived in miami just a few years ago and never had any annoyances at the airport. What is happening there that is such a pain in the ass?

I think the worst airport I've ever been in was in Bulgaria.

Havent been in the smaller airports in Bulgaria, but Sofia's airport looks nice from VIP area, I used to bring Bulgarian construction workers to Israel in the late 90's, so been there few times. But agree regarding Pleven, is a shithole.
