The last time I filled up my car, it was $2.79. It's now $4.29.

I get good mileage, but it's getting low. :Oh crap

I saw a bumper sticker that said "When Bush Took Office Gas was $1.46"

I remember when we would drive down to Florida and I would see Diesel for $.99.

Now I pay $4.50+ to fill my Diesel Jetta. : (

That sucks it jumped $.10 over night, it's $3.97.

I moved to Florida at the end of 1996. Gas was $.69 a gallon and a pack of cigarettes was $1.45 with tax.

I remember when my grandpa used to tell me that the "bottle" of coke was only 5 cents ...

I put in $20 the other day to keep the light off, and I got 13 liters of fuel.

I did the math, in high school days (I'm 27!) I would have got around 48 liters of gas for $20.

I laugh my ass off every time i see the gas prices in movie backgrounds (and sometimes cry)

I remember in the late 70's early 80's when gas was $1.50 and minimum wage was $3 an hour. So a person on minimum wage had oto work 30 minutes for gallon of gas. Today with minmum wage being $6.55 and gas being $4 a person working for minimum wage has to work 37 minutes for a gallon of gas. Of course with better technology the average minimum wage worker has to buy 50% less gas to go the same amount of miles compared to 1978-1981

I remember .69 per gallon for sure. Sort of remember lower than that too.

I remember it being 12.9 cents when I was a kid going to Six Flags Over Texas with my family.

I remember the 1 buck a gallon too..

I'm right there with you man. I remember 18-19 cents a gallon also. My buddy had a VW bug and we could drive around all night for 50 cents!!!

In 1996/1997 I remember going to Jersey and gas was less then $0.99, while in Brooklyn it was something like $1.25.

To be honest,I can't even remember what I had for dinner last night :(

just enjoy the $4.00 dollars now. In a couple years you'll be saying ... "Hey, I remember when gas was $4.00 !" :D

one station would drop its price and the one close to it would undercut it then another would undercut them then the first one would drop his untl they all were at rock bottom, and THEY would pump it and check yer oil and wash yer windshield

I can remember gas wars in the late 60's (I was still a kid). Gas was 13cents a gallon then.

When I got my first car and bought gas, it was around 65cents per gallon.

Took me almost $90 to fill up my Yukon yesterday.

In 1989 I was a senior in high school and worked at a small convenience store that had gas pumps. The price was around 92 cents a gallon when I started. About 6 months later it went up over $1.00 a gallon and you would have thought the world was coming to an end the way people were complaining. I would love to hear them now.

a hooker told me she was going to have to charge me an extra $20 because of the high gas prices.. so while she was over, i had my friend siphon $50 worth of gas out of her car..

I remmeber paying 1.10 in miami and bitching that when I went to tampa, I could get it for 98 cents

You guys still have one of the cheapest gas in the world.

When I first got my license, I drove an extra 8 miles to get to a gas station that charged 29.9 --- the stations closer to me were charging 32.9 :1orglaugh

(and for you Boston people, it was a Rico Petrocelli gas station - at the traffic light just before what's now Foxboro Stadium :1orglaugh )
