Obama approves Black Power ideology and Rev Wright

Proof below:

Quote:

During an interview at a Philadelphia radio station, Barack Obama said “But she is a typical white person. If she sees somebody on the street that she doesn’t know. . .there’s a reaction in her that doesn’t go away and it comes out in the wrong way.”
What's a typical white person? :helpme A White supremacist, Black killer? :helpme

- Denied any knowledge of Rev Wright offensive anti-White sermons, but he himself makes offensive, public anti-White statements.

If you look closely at some of his speeches/debates, you can pull out tense racial feelings.

I'm not surprised at all.

But we live in a world for of double standards, so it's going to be fine that he said that.

I'd love to see you all if Clinton said "typical black man"

"What makes me optimistic is that every generation is feeling less like that," Obama said.

Like him or hate him, the man knows how to give a speech. He knows how to speak convincingly. He sounds like he knows what he is talking about. And whether he does or not is irrelevent. I happen to think he knows what he's talking about but that is a leap of faith because, honestly, how would I really know?

I went to one of his rallies. I didn't hear anything new, but I heard a guy who liked to talk and could speak exceedingly well. I heard a statesman, a diplomat. Can a statesman be corrupt? Can he be duplicious? Can he be an unmitigated asshole? Absolutely.

Regardless...a statesman and a diplomat, a guy who sounds intelligent, reasonable and speaks convincingly...that is the sort of person we need in the oval office at this moment.

blackfeet 03-23-2008 08:20 PM

i bet EVEN the illuminati would back obama right about now.

here's how it works folks.

put in a republican and tear shit up worldwide.
when the people are fed up and almost to a breaking point, then put in a democrat to cool things down.

obama would be the perfect candidate to cool tensions worldwide. also keep in mind...most of obama's supporters are WHITE, so you need to take that racist bs some place else.

TSGlider 03-23-2008 08:29 PM

And EVEN if you hate him, give him props for that speech on the 18th. Check it out on YouTube if you've only heard sound bytes. That was a historic speech that will likely be talked about years from now whether he wins the white house or loses the nomination.

you mean his speech where he accepted ZERO responsibility for anything, tried to explain everything and did absolutely nothing to distance himself from racism, bigotry, antisemitism or his pastors persistent militant/racist/seperatist/antisemitic stance?

the speech that has those already supporting him saying how amazing it was...

the speech that has everyone who was on the fence running away from him?

... the speech that gave the lead back to Hillary because people were hoping that he would consistent with his message and denounce racism and race issues and hopefully be consistent with his message of unity?

that speech?

the speech that put him behind and still has him trailing behind US politics most vile and ruthless cunnt?

historic?

really?

My point is this Obama comment isn't even vaguely racist when taken into the context it was used. Had a white politician made a similar comment in a similar context his career would have been unscathed.

Wanna know why? Because it's a fucking non-issue.

Incorrect. Thurmond got away with it because of where he represented and when. He could not start off today with the same attitude and be as successful.

I admit it was a probably a bad comparison. But, Thurmond did go on to be the longest sitting senator in us history despite is overt racist beliefs. Even into "modern times".

I just think vaguely racist comments aren't going to cause immediate destruction to a white politicians career. they will catch flak, but a career ender? Doubtful.

You are concentrating on the when and not enough on the where.

I can assure you it would be political suicide for McCain or Clinton to so much as utter the words, "typical black person."

I disagree. If a white politician said "typical black person" in reference to a negative personality trait he would be finished.

Saying someone is typical of a race is fine as long as its true. I can easily say the typical black man listens to rap and hiphop music and that is far from racist.

Now isnt McCain playing buddy buddy with Pat Robinson and the other assorted fucktard religious bigots? How is this even any bit slightly different than some of what Obama has been accused of? I seem to recall them blaming 9/11 on certain people, and Katrina on certain people as well.

You're grasping at straws.

Yes, Wright is obviously a zealout and he has some of his facts wrong like saying the government created AIDS, and some of what he says is antiquited and is certainly divisive and directly opposite of the "bridging of the races" speech that's been Obama's schtick.

But supremacist? Did he say Blacks are superior? Is he in favor of segregation? He befriended Obama who is half black half white. His congregation has black and white members. Railing against certain domestic and foreign policies isn't anti-American. Pat Buchanan is opposed to the Iraq war - does that make him anti-American?

Wright gave a Lifetime Acievement Award to Louis Farrakhan, a black supremist that supports separatism between the races.
There's a line that seprates criticism of American policy and being fervently anti-American on all levels. I think Wright crosses that line. Have you ever heard Pat Buchanan feel the need to start wailing "God damn America! God damn America!" during one of his commentaries? Or refer to "the U.S. of KKK-A!"?

Kingfish 03-23-2008 10:50 PM

It is interesting to me the guy that originally pushed this story Sean Hannity has been exposed as a bigot because of his past close association with a Neo Nazi.

Would somebody who is anti-American subscribe to Christianity, the religion of the founding majority? Would somebody who is anti-American spend his life providing services to America's needy? Would somebody who is anti-American serve in the Marines? For all his abrasive and vile talk during a passionate sermon, I don't think he's truly anti-American. But what is your definition of anti-American? Does it refer to somebody that wants to see America perish?

Farrakhan may be a separatist, but Wright's associations with people of all races both in the Marines and outside, suggest that he is not. Somebody above posted the name of Senator Robert Byrd, who was once a KKK member. I don't see the kind of separatist racist rhetoric coming from Wright that came from him, which was unmistakably separatist and anti-American speech:

"Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds.
. . . I shall never fight in the armed forces with a Negro by my side"

Falwell and others have made crude remarks about America (re: 9/11) which could also be interpreted as anti-American. One difference is that Wright apparently had no intention of appearing on on mainstream tv like the late Falwell and Robertson love to do. For what it's worth, mainstream music artists have used sayings like "AmeriKKKa" and have sold those albums nationwide. I don't consider this to be anti-American in the conventional sense.

I also disagree with "America is stupid" I think it is arrogant and childish to label people you disagree with as "stupid".
