I just got the following email from Purity Scan:

This move will tentatively be completed toward the end of this week, and we will notify you if there will be any downtime. If you did not get this email, then you should contact them. (Their old server had a few problems once their bandwidth skyrocketed.) A few bumps here and there is normal for any startup program, but to pay out for down time kicks ass. With there new faster servers, our downloads (and money) should increase too.

Yeah it 'phones home' from time to time, without even running the application (as long as you install it). It calls itself "Winservs.exe", I *think*.

They pay you for downtime. Every startup has bumps here and there. Most startsup do not pay you for those bumps though. Purity Scan does.
