Mac with OS X and will never go back to a PC

GT Bill 02-22-2008 10:33 AM

I have used a PC my entire life, only used a mac a few times in class. My uncle (who works for apple) has a few MacBook Pro's, he showed me around Leopard for about 10 minutes and I was hooked!

All my roommates have Mac's, so it wore off on me. I am getting the 24" iMac on monday! -will keep posted on how I like the switch.

Babaganoosh 02-22-2008 10:35 AM

Currently stuck between Mac and PC. I refuse to use Vista ever again so eventually I will have to go 100% Mac unless MS can make Vista suck less with a future service pack.

L-Pink 02-22-2008 10:35 AM

pc 100% ...

MSantore 02-22-2008 11:25 AM

PC, I hate Vista with a passion. Unfortunately Microsoft is going to stop supporting XP in the next year or two. I might switch to mac or Linux to avoid vista.

stickyfingerz 02-22-2008 11:39 AM

If you hate vista list the specs of the machine you are trying to run it on.

Did you do full fresh install or try to upgrade?

Ive used XP since it pretty much came out, and used win 98 before that, win 95 before that, 3.1 before that, dos on a trs 80 III before that. Vista works perfectly for me. 0 issues, and I push my machines hard. Just can't see how other than a crappy machine, or little computer knowledge that you can have many issues. Or using ancient peripherals. My scanner was unlikely to work since I bought it in Japan 4 years ago or so, and it only had Japanese drivers, so. What did I do? Went and bought a nice new all in one fax, scanner, printer, copier. 0 issues with Vista.

If you say you hate Vista please explain what problems you've had.

DatingGold 02-22-2008 11:56 AM

I use both

TGVinny 02-22-2008 11:58 AM

I mostly use PC and to tell you the truth, I don't mind Vista.

D 02-22-2008 12:12 PM

PC's... with Vista and XP.

Only one or two _minor_ issues with Vista while enduring a processing schedule that 95% of machines will never see.

I'm thinking the vast majority of those peeps that have problems with Vista have never actually used the OS. :2 cents:

u-Bob 02-22-2008 12:16 PM

Mac's are PC's (same hardware) :)

Started on a Mac about 15 years ago while in graphic art school. My brother owned a PC so I used it at night to get an edge in class. I stayed with it and haven't looked back.

I'm able to build my own super fast PC's and i know how to troubleshoot Windows(it's like owning a Volkswagen Beetle). I've done some amazing 3D and graphic work on my PC(or so I've been told over the years), and would never switch back to a Mac.

So I guess I'm saying you don't need a MAc for graphics. That's bullshit.

I use both also. I mostly use my Mac for design and video editing. And I use my PC for e-mail, web, music and design-testing.
