They are not doing it to make more money from us, do you really think that the $10 million (20,000 x $500) is going to make a dent in the billions that they make each year ?? Yes I feel that the big 3 went about the announcement all wrong, but sitting here pissing and moaning about a simple $750 charge, and the corresponding $250/yr is the most childish act I've seen on this board in a long time. And yes international webmasters may have to invest another $1000 to have a presence here in the US, and I feel that that may not be the best solution for Visa to require that, but it is their ball field, and we do have to play by their rules. If we had not been such a pain in the ass for them, we wouldn't be in this posistion.

Not all billing companies have the capital, know how or foresight to set up merchant accounts with these particular banks and that is why I foresee some of these companies going under over the next few months.

With this move, GloBill feels it will emerge as one of the most stable companies in the industry.

I blame VISA for one thing. They did nothing to prevent fraud. In the 80's were there was no internet trade they already had 200 Million Dollars fraudulent uses and they just wrote this off due to security would have been much more expensive. I beleive now with that much internet trade it gets a pain in the ass because every con now is using the net. What they need to push for is the electronic signiture so you can actually prove the charge but they take the easy way. By cutting off my credit cards I would just limit myself and not hurt VISA

First I don't see how we are fucked ?? Just because Visa USA made the jump to adopt the new rules has no effect on me. Yes it will cost me a few more dollars, but I bet that if you come back here next year I will be richer due to the fact that this will help curb a lot of the crap that is going on out there.

I will go out on a branch here and state the obvious for those of you which are not quite up to speed here, within the next 12 months Visa Corp will put the pressure on all regions to comply thru the use of fines and fees for not adopting the new rules. And this is not a bad thing, it will stop the scammers and those sites which have the high CB that make it bad for all of us!
