Ron Paul goes on Leno and kills any chance of winning.
If Ron Paul wants to get elected he needs to stay off of TV. He looks like one of the old critics that sat in the balcony and heckled on the muppets. To me he is no different than any of the other candidates. He says some stuff I like and some stuff I don't care for or about, but he looks pretty strange and his mannerism are odd. He come off on TV as an odd guy. Sadly, this country will not elect a guy that looks like him.

I agree with you 100%, but I got news for you - he had zero chance of winning whether he went on Leno or not.
The poor guy looks like he's shell-shocked or suffering from caffeine withdrawal every time he opens his mouth. He seriously needs someone to help calm him down and explain that a successful presidential strategy takes at least a little personality and mic skills! Whatever his message is, it gets lost in his rants and almost incoherent debate answers. But hey, the porn guys here seem to love him ... :helpme |

obviously he has zero chance of winning...I thought he was great on Leno, have you seen the other guys?

Kane, agree 100%. Even in the very unlikely event that he could make a run at the top I don't think his candidacy could stand the focus on him for any length of time. He just comes across as odd.
The Giuliani comment was funny though. Here's the video. https://youtube.com/watch?v=-pxdmNzKNfU https://youtube.com/watch?v=KpsvXdXKmHA |

i never got lost listening to him. |
He made perfect sense to me. I thought he did well. You can tell he thinks for himself, which is unlike most of the other candidates who tend to say whatever they think the masses want to hear.

George Bush doesn't come across as odd?

Although I disagree with Ron Paul on several key issues (pro-life/choice, gun control, the UN, etc), and would never vote for him, I thought he made a good national showing for himself on the Leno show (I generally put style after substance when it comes to issues like National Security).
It is shameful that Fox News kept Ron Paul off the stage for the New Hampshire debate, especially when he was running in a tie for third in the polls with Giuliani in that State. A few days earlier, before the Iowa primary, the Leno show gave Mike Huckabee a chance to make an appearance on his show, and Huckabee didn't talk politics at all, and instead offered light chatter to show he was an "Aw Shucks" kind of guy. As for appearance, I thought he looked like Moe Howard from the 3 Stooges (with less hair) or Gomer Pyle... Moe: http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...howard---7.jpg Gomer: http://images.scripting.com/archiveS...7/23/gomer.jpg Huckabee: http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z...eInterview.jpg Looking at their two Leno appearance, I would have to say that I would opt for Paul over Huckabee, although the chances are greater that I would write in Paul McCartney or Huckleberry Finn (or even Moe and Gomer) before voting for either of those aforementioned political chuckleheads... All I hear is people saying he is a nut job and has no chance of winning. Because he has no chance of winning that makes him a nutjob?
So I guess if you are not killing Muslims you are a nut job.....cool. <.< |

He is a nut job because he talks about too much change... unrealistic change... I appreciate the fact that he educates people about all of the ways govt fucks us.... but if you think about it a minute you can figure it out on your own.
At this point in time I think we are going to see a democratic president and I think the ticket will be Obama/Edwards unless one of them makes a huge gaff. I am starting to see Richardson and Clinton draw their wagons together as well but I don't see Obama losing too much momentum at this point and Clintons campaign team isn't as well organized or professional as Obamas. I heard this on 3 network news channels so far (Fox, MSNBC and ABC). I have noticed that the Republicans have kind of backed off some of the war retoric and are speaking in softer voices... it's funny to hear... they sound like the dude talking to the girl he is trying to fuck. I predict Obama will win the democratic primary in NH tonight. I think that on the Republican side you will see Romney on top with McCain in second position. |
He did excellent, what are you talking about? Man you Americans.
|
When did he ever had a chance of winning??
|
I love it. If he went on saying that he wanted to keep our soldiers in Iraq for 100 years, and that he thinks we should advance our federal goverments control over us, and that we should keep watching the dollar drop as we fall farther into bankruptcy as a country he would be considered not a nutjob?
Fuckng americans are so stupid. Boy do we love our britney spears. stupid sheep. |

Looks, on the other hand, can make a huge difference .... In the end we are a visual society. I'm not saying it is right, I'm just saying it is fact. When you look at Ron Paul you don't see someone that looks very "presidential." |

So people would rather have a pretty slave-master than think for themselves?
Here's leaked video of a Ruppert Murdoch internal meeting discussing the Ron Paul campaign. https://youtube.com/watch?v=sWpoYzHq-Ko |

I went into the show with an open mind, I don't know a lot about Paul other than the fact that he is GFY's favorite son so I wanted to see him for myself and I was anything but impressed. |

How about when he mentioned that some politicians want the US to stay in the middle east for 100 years or so.
He also made a very good point about us having military bases in other countries. Why the hell do we have bases all over the globe again? It's not for our safety in the states, that's for sure. I know, it's hard to keep up with all those words he is saying when you are concerned with how he looks. |
kane . . . Leno probably had no effect as he never stood a chance anyway.

Early on Leno asks him why, if he was a qualified candidate he was left off the debate. Paul replies: You know, I don't know. I can speculate. If I qualified, as you point out, that I had the qualification, it must be they didn't want to hear the message. Maybe they're intimidated. Maybe they're frightened. Maybe they don't want to hear the truth. Who knows? We'll have to figure that out. He then states that he thinks part of it is that Fox news is tied into national policy issues and since he is a strict constitutionalist they ignore him. That's a fair point, but is this the truth he was going to tell them? This is no secret. He then mentions he is opposed to the war in Iraq, again no secret. It is not until after the commercial break that he actually starts to get into his ideals and beliefs. If you assume that these ideals and beliefs are the truths he was going to say during the debate, they too are not earth shattering. They are the same thing he has said in every other debate and he didn't string them together. He needed to say, "Fox news was afraid of the truth, they were afraid I would explain how our government just prints money when we need it and that drives down the value of our dollar." or something like that. They way he said it he came off like a guy who has some great secret he is waiting to spring on the world then he never delivers it. |
