Quote:

hmmmm very interesting....
|
they have been doing this for quite some time
since vista started being preinstalled actually I did it 3-4 months ago on my dads new desktop i called them and they took care of it all on the phone, very nice about it too edit: ah, read the whole thing now, they are giving a downgrade disc out...wish I had that at the time |
I am using vista i am curious to know what problems you and anyone else has/is having with it?
I noticed a couple of funny things with it. |
Finaly they came to their senses.

Dam straight! I hate vista. 1.) it's so memory intensive 2.) it's sooooooo fucking slow
|
hm so good... I never had Vista on my computer.... I think that it´s needlessly fot tacky customer... XP is cool..
|
I just picked up a gateway PC to have kicking around for internet and misc shit (media, etc) for home.. it has vista installed.. does all the same shit as XP did.. looks the same what are the issues that people are even having?
I can see corporate customers not wanting to make the switch.. but the average PC user doing interwebs, music/video and word processing..... |
fuck vista.
|
At last they realise it sucks balls...
|
It has a much better visual appeal than xp but mine came preinstalled and anyway i have only ever used windows so i don't have anything else besides microsoft products to compare it with!
|
vista = complete failure
|
That's cool, been thinking about getting a new Viao, but didn't want to deal with Vista

I need a new laptop, and having to deal with vista is one of the things I don't want to do.
|
I hear Vista blows. Glad I kept XP.

Old news...

Vista sucks ....big time
|
Vista works perfectly for me. More than anything the problems are related to halfwit users, not the OS.

Let's see.
(Non-OEM) Vista Business costs: $299. Vista Ultimate costs: $399. XP Pro costs: $288. Of course, if you get the OEM version, which these companies already have site licenses for, it's no extra expense to them.. so, great, you can buy your system, then reformat and reinstall it so you can use it! |
They should call it an upgrade to xp.
|
Vista is better than XP.

I have Vista on my laptop. Works fine for me.
|
We are at a personal computing stage right now where a computer that is five years old can do 99% of the things that a brand new one can do. Unless you are gaming or need it for intensive business use, why does anyone buy a new computer these days? It's completely unnecessary.
That's why I think Vista was a conspiracy of sorts between Microsoft and the PC makers. If regular software is no longer making computers obsolete, then the next logical step is to create an OS that you need a brand new computer to operate. |
Actually a smart move on MS part. Get the sheep to downgrade their PCs to XP then later when they HAVE to change to Vista charge them for it when they could have had it already for FREE.

3 1/2 years ago I paid $1100 for my computer. 2 years later my friend got one slightly more powerful for $350 cheaper. Today a $300 wal-mart computer is more powerful. Go look at an ad for a computer from 20 years ago and see what you got for $2000. |

do a Google search for "Vista sucks".....
doesn't appear to be a very popular product from MS. |

But what about the average user who is strolling through Best Buy and sees that slick looking version of Windows (Vista) on all the computers? THAT is what is making the sale. |

Which I gladly did. So you can keep your goofy fucking operating system with the fancy flipping windows. It's idiots like you that support that kind of shitting engineering that make it difficult for the rest of us. Get over yourself Gator.... you got ripped off by Microsoft. Move on. Defending Vista is getting you nowhere. The rest of the world already knows it's a piece of shit. |
i just returned my Laptop to Dell, i dont ever want to see that Vista system again..!!!

80% of people polled didn't want Vista, but i'm sure 100% of MSFT shareholders wanted Vista LOL.

I'm running Vista with no issues, yet.
|
As much as I don't like the Vista OS, I just have to go with the flow and like it till the next mac-iVista os comes out.
|
What's so bad about vista anyway? I think 99% of the problems are from people who have old/incompatible hardware...
|
I run Vista and it blows the doors off of XP. A lot of what you hear about Vista is total BS FUD...Most of it is descended from a review on Tomshardware that was done before proper drivers were out.
As well I have a USB stick in with a 4 gig readyboost cache. It flies. |
I have noticed sometimes my hard drive goes into a endless whirling around and i have had to shut off and restart to get out of it so whether thats a vista prob i don't know.I only recently purchased a acer pc as my dell was starting to seriously play up after 6-7 years of use.
|
My laptop is 100% Vista compatible, all the way down to the intel wireless. Thus, it runs Linux.
Vista has much stronger hardware requirements, but basically, it's XP with a prettier skin where everything runs directly through DirectX to give it the 'lickable interface.' The last go-around, oeople were saying that XP was basically 2000 with themes, which for the most part was true. Vista is a bit more, but it's a hog for what it does. If you don't need the pretty bells and whistles (Let's see, the new WinFS didn't make it.. the firewall is still a joke, and other than having the ability to buy up into turning your computer into a prettier DVD player), there's not that much of a need for it. ...and whoever said NT 3 was decent does not remember NT3. NT 3.51 was the first usable release of NT, and NT4 is still a staple found doing various OEM and proprietary tasks, all of these years later. |

First idiots like you complain the XP sucks and is not secure. So MS revamps it's OS and in doing so hardware needs to have firmware upgrades. Now you bitch about that. So what you are saying is that MS should have just made a OS pretty much like XP which people like you bitch about being too insecure. So when that OS gets hacked to peices because of it's similarity to XP you'll have somehting else to bitch about. But hey at least the fucktard from the company you bought you POS hardware from don't have to get their lazy asses off the couch and do some actual work. If MS OSes suck so much why not get an Apple or use Linux? |
Quote:
No I don't. Anyways do you use MS products. I bet you do. So what does that make you? |
