Personally I think all the lying to kids about the dangers of drugs has done more to fuel the drug problem than anything else.

I'm not saying drugs aren't dangerous, but when kids are told they'll end up homeless and god knows what from using drugs, one time can make you an addict for life etc., then the kids try it and find out that's not exactly true and stop believing any of the propaganda and then allot of them end up fucked, others just keep up being recreational users for a long time (although that can sure backfire as well).

Well I'm happy to live in Amsterdam. I get confronted with what that shit does to you every time I go for a walk at night. It keeps me sane and far far away from it.

Yep. Just about everybody I know who tried it. Self control is key. The problem with H is that it feels so damn good.

I know a lot of people who have tried a variety of drugs, myself included. Anything from Heroine, to crack and never tried it again.

This is not to say that no one never becomes addicted to something almost immediately, but those are people who have addictive personalties already, and have exhibited these issues elsewhere in their lives.

I have an addictive personality, and I live in Vegas, however I don't drink, do drugs, or gamble. I do play poker, which requires more skill, with a little gamble. But you'll never see me playing any games that the house has an edge.

However, my addictions lie elsewhere, food being one of them. And yes, I treated it like some people treat their alcohol / drug addictions. I have a few others, but those are not necessarily for public consumption.:winkwink:

There's a lot of other drugs out there to try with a lot less chance of ending up a junkie... but is the heroin high worth it? Who knows, maybe it is... I have no idea, never tried it.

Yep - know a person who "did" heroin, tho was not knowingly or voluntary - more an attempted murder made to look like an overdose.

This was around 27 years ago and, apart from surviving, this caused severe problems and trauma trying to kick the habit. In effect what had happened is the "perp" had injected this shit and created a victim who was an addict instead of a killing.

Pleased to say the victim who is a friend, has done very well and survived. Although "clean" for over 21 years, she still considers herself as an "addict" and will always be that way. Another good result is that everyone who played a role, whether knowingly or not, got justice in the end and served jail time or were dealt with another way.

Only a clue Jarmusch - can say with 100% certainty, the victim in this case would tell you not to even think of touching the shit voluntarily. It can be a very painful and destructive path for many years ahead.

The only thing that ever got me addicted was smoking cigarettes. Still haven't found a way to permanently get rid of that addiction :(

from my experience (not with h anyway) I know that everything you tried and you liked it, it's big chance of repeating it :)
maybe tomorrow, maybe month later, year, but ppl like to repeat pleasures...
but of course you can try h for example and find no pleasure in it worth repeating ...or not :)

Heroin is for fuckin losers...end of story...if you want to be a lsoer and have a weak mind then go for it...but business and making money has no room for addicts.

I know 5 people that have tried it only two were able to stop within the first few times. out of the other 3 one has only been clean for a little over a year after 4-5 time in treatment. one is still doing it ( could be dead for all i know I haven't spoken to him in over 2 years. the other died a few years back from an OD. I'll never even try it. its just not worth the risk .

Also of the opinion that anyone who buys/uses drugs are not just causing possible harm to themselves, but playing stupid games where the "down-the-line" effect, not only harms the user, but also creates many problems for relatively innocent people at the start of the supply chain and enables evil and amoral assholes to indulge in their greed and power fantasies. If ya want to be "owned" - this is a classic example.

A face-to-face meet with one of these lumps of human waste will probably cure any addiction in ten minutes - it's like having a chat with a biological hot agent with the power to liquify your organs and have you spewing and excreting intestines. Nice people.
