It's sad Trey Hickey, but I film a ton of concerts and have contacts with everyone you can imagine.
I filmed Snoop Dogg 2 days ago. Sad isn't it how karma can come back and bite you in the ass? I'll be sure and spread your name around some :) |
He has money... which in the music business, unfortunately, makes even folks like Ebeneezer Scrooge immune to Karma.

you're proud of filming snoop dog? he was at a ghetto part/rave in chilliwack on the 25th... the event was thrown by some smalltime promotion company out here.. who exactly did you film snoop for? |
Where you from? There are alot of good local rappers here in St. Louis that I do photos for.
|
Quote:
You have no clue :winkwink: I film hundreds of bands, rappers, singers blah blah all over the world. :thumbsup |
maybe you jtf and epic jim get together and make rap video ?
|
why not just ball up 100s and throw em out the window instead?
|
I'll lend you this though Trey, if you EVER plan on actually doing ANYTHING in music, you had best reinvent yourself.
At the top it's suits and ties. It's alot different then what you see on tv hah. I sat through a board meeting 3 weeks ago to go over filming details for Ozz Fest, a whopping 45 minute concert and it took us almost 6 hours complete with arial photography and blueprints of the stage just to get camera positions down. That's what you will be dealing with. If your not going to be a performer your going to be publicist or management or producer and trust me, even the most obnoxious artists want a professional. Not a porn peddler. |

money talks, bullshit walks kid. |
I own a record label here in Dallas, started it in 2002. Matter of fact, selling traffic is just a side business I do.
|
My advice, start your own label.

You have alot to learn, you think you have money. The bill for the last music video I was on set on was for a little over 3 million. Have 3 million to blow? I've filmed over 500 national recording artists in the last 14 years. Instead of trying to act cocky, I'd suggest you start listening and start learning. You don't know it all, so take it from someone who does this daily. :2 cents: |

you think this is the oly thing i am involved in? ive worn a suit before and smiled? I am a salesman by nature and entrapanuer 2nd nature. I dont work for anyone, I fund projects. period. Im noones bitch like you are. |
Hey p1mpdog,
I'm highest rated concert photographer in the world, have won numerous awards and have contacts within industry including bands, labels, promo companies, etc. Email in the sig, I may have something of good interest for you... |

I'd suggest you start learning what networking is. This isn't the porn industry. But anyway, good luck to you, your going to need it with your attitude. |
Quote:
Trey, I don't shoot porn, never have. I knew you when you first started. BTW, I don't go to the parties sorry, no one I want to meet. Now see how fast I just made you get all mad and whiny? I can't wait untill you try and start up with some label. Your gonna go REAL far hahaha :1orglaugh |
Quote:
so you mean he shouldn't walk into a room with black people and say " whats up niggas?" Trey would be cool in person, he has eballs. He wouldn't say the shit he says here to people he does business with in person. |
Quote:
posting on GFY and you are not even in this industry. that says enough about you. |
Quote:
Ahem. I'm not in this industry... But I know your name... ? Trey Robert Hickey. Should I call you by something else? :) |

I only paid $5k to do a video for one of my bands, and that included the $4K for the HD video camera. |

Let me run it down for you just so you can have fun trying to dispute me later: If Pimple invests in music the smart thing for him is to do it through a production company. He may take an upstart band with an engineer/producer that may have had a few indie hits OR a rap producer with an act or two and start a production company. Once that company has a hit getting buzz or airplay he will be ready to go to the labels for a deal or J/V. Are you with me? At the labels he will have to deal with either A&R VP's or the label heads themselves. A&R VP's are rarely if ever in suits. Suits are only broken out for special occasions. Label heads wear both but mostly dress down to the office. For instance, Rick Rubin at Sony. Lyor Cohen at Warner. Monte Lippman at Universal. These are not native suit wearers. Sure, there's the Clive Davis's (J/RCA) and the Doug Morrises(UMG) of the world that are always dressed up but if Pimperton gets that far it means he has a smash hit that's selling Extremely well... and in that case he can wear shit stained diapers with sockless Crocs in an office and still get whatever he wants. As a matter of fact, dressing up and carrying yourself in a fake way to get into the business is not a good idea. The musicians won't trust you and neither will the DJ's and radio station people. I'm amazed that I'm going to say this but Trey should just be himself. He'd fit in that world well. |

wonder how i got ppl to invest over a million bucks in a project im working on. wasnt by calling them hahahahahahas and spikz. always remember GFY is an outlet for ppl and hardly anyone on here is how they act in person. I woulddnt expect a surfer like jennigns to understand that though |

sellaband is the best way to invest in music! if you believe in the band you like you help them to reach 50K$ then sellaband record them and you got a part from the profit:-)

Yes, that's correct. I'd suggest before you start your usual crap, you look through the last 3 months threads. You'll see quite numerous of your friends were sued AND LOST in court for talking crap about me on this forum. We can play too if you need to. If I were you, instead of trying to look tough (LOL) I'd listen to people that actually work in that industry. |

Keep going Trey, no one here will join in with you, this forum saw 3 potent posters along with their sites dissapear.

ive already invested in 2 bands on this sellaband thing/... i guess you can only buy in $500 blocks..
ill try tomorrow to buy up some more, there are some good bands on here |
The music industry is really easy, you just have to cover your ass.

Sellaband acts as their recording label. You are investing into their label. Just a way to toss your money out the door. You SHOULD be looking into investing with Monster Energy Drinks, they will be the sponsor for My Chemical Romance in 2008. But wtf do I know... |
Find a local band and help them out.
