Men - do you hug your dad?
 

In the last few weeks I have watched two of my male friends around their families and each time both of them shook the hand of their father's when it was time to leave. To me that is alien because in my family all the men hug each other.

So, are you a hugger or a shaker with your dad?

If I lived near my dad I would give him a hug, but if I saw him every day I might just shake his hand... guess it depends on the situation

I dont see him that much these days, but when I did, I would drop to my knees and blow him from time to time...
However he had a cheesy bell-end so in a way I was glad when the old cunt died...

As I only see him about every 6 months he gets a hug and a heafty backslap that leaves him visably shaken..

I see my dad 2-3 times per year. So neither really, we're not that close. He has his own family and I have my own shit to get on with.

No issues there then.

We don't hug, nor shake.

i never hug and only shake hands to congratualate for bday, i thought hugging was something you only see in hollywood films... its over the top and sappy.

To me a handshake is something too formal for close family.

shaking my dads hand would just seem weird. when i saw him basically daily i didn't hug him all the time though but now that i live far away and only seem him a few times a year, i give him a hug when i see him. shaking hands is something i do with my girlfriends dad.

Before my Dad died. .. I would hug him. Shaking your Dad's hand is fucking odd. Like some kind of macho bullshit gone into overdrive.

I always hugged my father...actually let me take that back that 1 time I hugged my father.....never again though..!!

Hug your fathers. My father died when I was 16. He died at home in the kitchen of a massive heart attack. he had just come home from the hospital, and I dont remember the last time that I was able to hug him.

While he was laying on the floor in the kitchen, and we were doing cpr, we all too a sec to sort of hug him and tell him that we loved him.

He was pronounced deal at 11:34pm that night.

Yeah I hug my dad... kiss him on the cheek too. I love the guy. Drive each other crazy sometimes and have had some serious blowouts but the idea of shaking his hand is ludicrous to me.

I sure do... Hsve you seen the movie "Click" When Adam Sandlers is in his office and tells to his "younger himself" to at least take a moment for the dad??.. This part of the movie hit me hard. I was doing the same shit when he was coming at my office, NOW I take some minutes for him when he does visit...

I don't even remember the last time I did hug my father or shook the hand with him...

Most of the time just say whats up and then he helps me carry in the large amounts of beer I always bring if I'm going out there. We're a drinking family and we don't hug.
