Adbrite / AVN ads sending hitbot traffic, fake clicks, SCAM?
This was posted on another webmaster forum from a guy named Godius (famous for building dumpalink.com and now runs slutload.com - this guy has a great deal of respect and integrity) Here is what he said:

this is an extremely wreckless post to be making on a major webmaster board
this could very easily be a rouge webmaster sending them bot traffic through AVN's system rumors like this leave you looking like an asshole at the end of the day |
AVNAds is guilty of many things, but I seriously do not believe that they are sending bot traffic to their customers.
|
its not me, i am just reporting what i have seen. Im not going to name the forum. Against site t.o.s?
But this thread has a shitload of replies with people seeming to believe it. Can we get an AVN ads response on this? |
unlikely, but wouldn't surprise or shock me considering the ads of theirs i see all over torrent sites. if they feed off that scum, who's to say they might not be hitbotting shitheels to boot..?

Why do all that and un-indate the surfer with a loggin? Ask the surfer to type something is will definatly reduce any kind of stat yer looking for.
Why not use a cookie silly? Or even check Unique IP logs on the server for the image views or page views? |

what response are you looking for no or yes, we're sorry even if they were sending fake traffic... do you think they would admit it jesus, get a clue |

Hitbots now automatically sign up as well?
|
You only now discovered this?? I don't know AVN Ads but ADBRITE is sending 80% of hitbot traffic, I know because I run a mainstream pay per click search engine and there were many affiliates who tried to send that shitty traffic, they were immediately banned when we discovered what the traffic was lol

I sell you cheap hitbot from china and RU, good for trade sites. Or expensive hitbot from USA and Canada, good for signups. Minimum order is 200000 hitbots, convertions may fluctuate based on the price you pay :thumbsup |

I don't think its internal though, its more of that their fraud protecting sucks and their affiliates are sending the clicks. |
I recently spent around 1k and didn't see any sales from it that I could tell.
I didn't really dig to deep either, but I could tell it wasn't worth the money for our retail stuff. |
interesting? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
|
as a broker they should be held responsible for this, they are getting a comission for brokering the deal right? aren't brokers supposed to ensure things go smoothly?

i stopped using them on my sites. one of their ads was redirecting traffic to their site without anyone very clicking the banner.

If you don't log ip address, time, and referring URL for every single click of paid traffic you need to go back to being an employee. There is fraudulent traffic on Adbrite, there is fraudulent traffic on Yahoo, and nearly every other company I have purchased from. All data must be logged and questionable clicks must be forwarded to the provider for a refund. Most credible companies will credit your account within a few days.
So is AVNAds and Adbrite sending fake traffic? You bet. Traffic fraud is a massive problem across every ad network, the only company I've never had problems with is Google. But that doesn't mean you can't get a refund. The top tier networks are very much interested in clearing the scammers out of their systems. |
bump......
