Does Anyone Use Satellite High Speed Internet?
My cottage is in an area where we can't get high speed cable/dsl. We also can't get the Rogers High Speed Wireless because our lake is a little too far from the nearest tower.
Seems like our only alternative would be the Xplornet System, seems a bit pricey and I have heard mixed results on high speed satellite internet. Seems to be a bit of a delay when you send and receive? Upload speeds seem to be a bit slow? Maybe things have improved since last time I checked them out, anyone here use high speed satellite internet? Would love to hear what you think, I'm dying up there on my dial up LOL! Thanks, DH |
Stop using the internet at the cottage! The cottage was intended for a place to relax! I hate to say it, but i bet your blackberry will be the best option to surf :)

used it for 2 years when i was stuck in an area where dsl or cable wouldnt reach.
SUCKED ASS. Weather would make connectivity a problem every now and then, there was always a lag as well |

Dial Up?
Hmm, I vaguely remember the term. Isn't that a torture method used by the cold war era KGB? |
Satellite is basically like ISDN if you remember that. Except the fact that up is always slow, and weather effects it.

Nothing like dialing up, checking e-mail and then having breakfast, going for a swim and then coming back to see it's about 75% downloaded LOL! Very painful dude! DH |
