AVN/GFY To Investigate Media Revenue Allegations - Cancels MediaRevenue Advertising 2 B Unbiased - GoFuckYourself.com

Yesterday, August 15th, GFY/AVN received a letter of C&D from the company Media Revenue, due to a thread made from the user Onlytease on GFY. The thread was moved (and not deleted) until we were able to seek legal advise on the matter.

At this time, due to increasing amount of reports that AVN and GFY is hearing on questionable types of program behaviour, AVN has launched a full investigation to report on the issue. Pending the results, we will issue a public comment in AVN and here.

Additionally, after consulting our legal team, we decided to stop accepting advertisement from Media Revenue, until AVN and GFY are able to fully evaluate the situation.

At this time AVN and GFY does not have any proof of the accusations, nor any proof to discredit any accusation. We also know that many webmasters have generated significant income over the years from the programs in question.

Nevertheless, as there have been a lot of negative threads in recent months and it is pretty clear that AVN and GFY community have a responsibility to research this issue further. During that time, to complete this research in unbiased manner, AVN/GFY will move foward without any advertising revenues from MediaRevenue.

Given the possible legal implications, we ask the GFY community to show self control the next couple of weeks and months, until we are able to complete our investigation into the matter and publish our findings.

It is good that you are temporarily not taking any money from Media Revenue in an effort to restore some journalistic integrity. I look forward to hearing the results of your research, as I am sure many are, although I am not sure why it would take months to resolve the OnlyTease allegations against DeeCash (MR).

P.S. Be sure to investigate Manwin when you finish with Media Revenue...

Some things to check into: copyright infringement, 2257 record keeping (check the legal page of MediaRevenue), the reports of unauthorized charges, as well as a report on the past histories of Jim, Anthony, Terrence, and Dee.

I look forward to the independent findings.

Only thing they can do really is to dive into things to a level where they, as a private company, feel they can justify killing all professional relationships because of brand considerations, ... or continue the relationship if nothing of importance where found. Onlytease seems to be standing by his statements, even dropping his email address and asking Theo to email him.

As an industry publication, AVN can take what info they can get a do things such as contact Visa, merchant banks, etc. Armed with just a little info, they can go after a lot of info.

If they are not accepting money from MR then they are free to be journalists and report their findings with no repercussions.

Without being any kind of expert of 2257 compliance, yes that is my understanding. That you are allowed to have an "operator" or "payments handler" who runs the site for you. And that operator does not need to be compliant.

Also, 2257 is an American law, applicable in American jurisdictions. If you setup shop elsewhere, like Cyprus, there would be no need for you to comply with laws of another jurisdiction.

But without being an expert, I cannot say for absolutely certain.
