(DRAMA) As promised, time to name names...
 

Well, three of the companies/individuals have made good on what they owed me, after my last GFY post.
The other three have not.

None of these have been huge money issues, as you'll see - the biggest single one (that was settled) was just under $1K. The three unsettled ones only total about $1K.

But if more people (after being fair and giving someone more than enough time to make good) posted warnings - it would go a long way toward cleaning things up at least a little bit in our biz.

Here goes.

1. VideoGregg - i know, i know - i've had problems in the past too. but he hired someone to handle his marketing and other "stuff" so i took a chance and bought $100 worth of content, with 2257 docs promised (this time, as opposed to when they weren't provided 2 years ago). So after 2 years, I tried again.
Guess what. The "content with 2257 docs" has no docs, some don't even have IDs - they're apparently lost somewhere in Gregg's house.
After giving them a couple of weeks to "find the docs" I asked for a refund via the same online mechanism I paid through. I paid within 3 mins of cutting a deal.
But for several weeks there repeatedly "hasn't been money in that account to make the refund. I'm expecting a payment into it today or tomorrow and you'll get your money immediately."
You're supposedly a decent-sized shooter/company who's been around for years, and you can't make a lousy $100 refund? Geez.

2. Chrome (Carl Geers) - posts on GFY boasting about the hot girls he's shooting and his magazine shoots. Tells me he has lots of girls lined up and wants to shoot - I spend *three months* (his timetable, not mine) going through all the parameters, test shoots, etc - a number of times.
Finally schedules a shoot in January, and we agree that as soon as I see the material he'll get a check (I've operated that way with a number of shooters for years.) He sends me sample photos during the shoot so I can approve/give him tips on lighting. Then says they're halfway through the shoot, but he needs $500 immediately to *finish* the shoot because he has to give the girl the money he's using to pay his bills the next day. I send it immediately. And then I hear *nothing.* He's supposedly finished the photo part of the shoot - I don't even get the photos. Won't answer icq for more than a week. "The model flaked." What happened to the photos? They never arrive.
And for the next two months, every time I ask him for a status report, it's "flaky girls - but I've found another one, here's her photo, what do you think?" After going through that several more times, I ask for my money back in March. Instead I keep getting more pics of hot girls he's going to shoot for me, followed by a disapperance of several weeks.
Last time I've heard from him was mid-April, now I'm just being ignored.
Dude, if you're so strung out you have to play me for $500, have the balls to at least say "I fucked up." Don't ignore me.

3. This one I'll just mention briefly because I've mentioned it in another thread - it's the infamous Red Sexy Studios/Star 69 - after they sent me one bad scene (out of about six) they said they'd reshoot it for me. The bad scene was shot in December, they promised in January a reshoot. A month later when I asked, they said within 1-2 weeks. It's been the same story ever since, even though I told them that I *wanted to spend more money with them* once the re-shoot was done. Guess they're too busy posting on GFY looking for new business to take care of what they promised, even if meant more business.

I know I'm going to get lots of "too long to read" or "you got burned for $1K from three different people, that's part of doing business" or "what did you expect dealing with those people" comments - fire away. But hopefully this will help some others who are looking to buy content.

And thanks to the others (who will not be named) who made good on things after my original post.

Actually, believe it or not, the experience with them was fine, especially since my stuff is tougher than most to shoot - until it came down to this issue.

Well, I'm not surprised. Carl is a kick ass photographer but he doesn't know fuck all about how business works. His models never make money...Not because they are not hot...but because Carl tells them they will make percentages of the shoots and when it comes down to it.....50&#37; of shit money = shittier money.

So now he's telling you that he is paying his model? Which model was it?

Yeah, his work looked great - he seemed kind of flaky, but artistic flaky, when we were spending months so he could understand what I was looking for - i chalked that up to being a perfectionist, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
I don't even remember the models names, there were about five or six of them by the end of the drama, but it started with raquel and keeley.

As I promised we will re-shot this scene for you for free. But it's not so easy to find a nice looking models who want to participate in the smoking scene and smoke sigarettes for 12 minutes constantly (aprox 5 sigarettes). Models try not to smoke at all. So it's not so easy to find a model who want to smoke for video.

Yes and this new girl is in Kiev (Ukraine) and I am in Russia she will be shot by anonther photographer. And she doensn't smoke.

Well you didn't have any problems finding four smoking models right after i placed my first order - so I didn't realize those were the only four smoking models in Russia that you had access to, and that they were now gone.
And you might want to give them a break rather than have them smoke for 15 minutes straight - I assume you pay them for more than 15 minutes work ;-)

well, it's a very different niche, with members who want to see very specific stuff, so shooting it is different than point-and-shoot (not to demean the people who are great shooters, just saying this takes more time initially to figure out the lighting and the angles, and limits the model pool you can use - and not everyone wants smoking in their studio). That means not everyone wants to shoot it...and that means i usually have to deal with whoever comes along and wants to try it. I've had some luck over the years, but also a lot of problems.
It'd be ten times easier if I was just looking for someone to shoot a BJ scene :(

and part of it is bad luck - i would not have expected three different content brokers to promise all 2257 docs with material they sold me - and find after paying them that all three didn't even have their OWN copies of the docs :disgust

I'm normally all over a thread like this offering my services, but cig smoke makes me ill and I won't even be in the same house or studio with someone smoking, much less in the same room!

As I've said "those people" who were the original subject of the original post included everyone from well known/respected content brokers, to foreign producers...six companies/people in all, three of whom made good after my original post.

And what I expect from all of them, large or small, broker or shooter, is the same respect and honesty that I give them.

Some times I think too many people in this business expect less...so they get it.

I paid them for 8 hours of work because now models becoming more and more proffesional and when you are asking them to come for like couple pics sets like 2-3 because the client hava ordered only 3 pic sets they doesn't want to come, when want to come for full time job like 6-10 sets and we pay them like we inviting them for full day of work.
As i allready said we will re-shoot this scene for you.

I know more about Russia then you do thats for sure, and EVERYONE smokes there.....a pack of cigs costs like $1-$2.

you paid them for eight hours of work (at Russian rates, not Los Angeles rates), and only had them shoot one scene for me in the eight hours, but you made them smoke all of their cigs in a row to get the scene done in 15 minutes?
Did they just sit around and laugh their asses off the rest of the time?
You really should either just re-shoot the scene and stop trying to defend yourself; you're sounding sillier and siller.

If you were shooting content for an insertions site, would you tell the model "oh, if you don't want to actually fuck it, that's fine - just stay around the *outside area* of the pussy - no one will know if you actually put it in or not."
