thumbs.db is created by WinXP when you view a folder with pics in thumbnail form in Windoze Explorer.

Or maybe by ACDSee ... not sure.

I'm pretty sure its WinXP doing that... I see that alot when I upload a whole folder with FTP..

I've had one of those fuckers be 16 mb on a big folder..

I just delete them.

win2k will also do it

dav555add 08-18-2002 01:50 AM

yeah I got it now
everytime I view a folder with the "thumbnail" view, it creates a thumbs.db file in the folder.
since I was checking all my site's folders to make sure I don't upload anything "useless" I created 9 MB of useless files.
what a waste of time

Just switch view back to icons when you are finished viewing your thumbs

If you place your files into a zip folder you get the thumbs.db file. You can delete it by entering the zip folder and choosing to delete the file. It is a pain in the ass cause it can sometimes be a large file. :thumbsup
