What the hell is thumbs.db ?????
i'm switching server for some of my sites and i'm finding a file named "thumbs.db" since I have no idea where it comes from
I erase it, but when I upload the sites it re appears???? anyone has ever seen this??? :helpme |
thumbs.db is created by WinXP when you view a folder with pics in thumbnail form in Windoze Explorer.
|
Or maybe by ACDSee ... not sure.
|
It's windows XP
|
I'm pretty sure its WinXP doing that... I see that alot when I upload a whole folder with FTP..
I've had one of those fuckers be 16 mb on a big folder.. I just delete them. |
win2k will also do it
|
yeah I got it now
everytime I view a folder with the "thumbnail" view, it creates a thumbs.db file in the folder. since I was checking all my site's folders to make sure I don't upload anything "useless" I created 9 MB of useless files. what a waste of time :ak47: |
Just switch view back to icons when you are finished viewing your thumbs

I'm going to look into the thumb caching thing |
If you place your files into a zip folder you get the thumbs.db file. You can delete it by entering the zip folder and choosing to delete the file. It is a pain in the ass cause it can sometimes be a large file. :thumbsup
