Here's a quick question for ya... just say the government goes ahead and gives the black community the millions of acres of land that they want. What in the fuck are they going to do with it?

I just skimmed the article, but I'm assuming that most of the people there were of low income. Which means that the majority of these black people would not be able to develop the land. The black guys with money would need to develop the land. Set up nice apartments, nice business buildings, and nice homes that these low income black people still can't afford. So sure, the black guys with money will do great with the land, the black guys without money will be back at square one, bitching about someone else.

Money is a tool. If you are not trained to use this tool properly, you'll fuck up your life as well as the lives of others. Most poor people do not know how to use the tool. So why give it to them? Handouts suck and they barely ever work. Give a kid a free ride to college and I can almost guarantee you that they won't have the same level of success that the kid working two jobs to pay for college will have.

Other "races" were mistreated but they nevertheless achieved--the Japanese during the 1940's, the Chinese during the 1880's, and currently, the West Indians and African immigrants.

Based on the 1990 census, Africans of West Indian and African descent excelled better, in terms of education and professional achievement, than native US-born African Americans. How can this be? Both suffered the same historical mistreatment. Both were crushed under the heel of colonialism. The answer is the failure of first generation African immigrants to subscribe to the victimhood theory.

Fact: The GDP of just the African Americans in the US easily dwarfs the GDP of any African country. Indeed, the standard of living of African Americans is far superior than any African country.

Conclusion: Time for a reality check and refocus on cultural values that create achievement and responsibility rather than denial, pessimism, and hopelessness. Focus on personal accountability. Focus on delayed gratification. Focus on personal control. Victimhood's paltry political payoffs is easily outweighed by the damage it does to communities' values.
