Which sponsors are really "clean"?
Recently we have had threads about tours with (deliberate) traffic leaks and of course Zango. There isn't much sense cutting off traffic to AFF, SexSearch and the rest, but still sending to sponsors who pop any of the offenders in their consoles. So predictably that was the topic of at least one more thread. Then we have the content thieves and the sponsors who have no problem with that type of site...
Maybe it would be easier to list the sponsors who - as far as we know - aren't involved in anything questionable. Nominations? |
www.MoreNiche.com is 100% clean :thumbsup

Click the webmasters link, affiliate code is lost. I didn't even look hard to find these two popular leaks. |

Does the affiliate get credit on that email collection box? |

http://members.bigboobsgalore.com/ there is a link below: Need a Password? Click Here for Instant Access! which resets the affiliates linking code... |

porngreen: The webmaster link is not coded. If you click the members entrace and click login, the backup button is almost entirely disabled (in firefox) such that it keeps refreshing to the bad password screen. Customer service link opens a blank page and a mail page at the same time, which means the tour is gone and surfer may close the window. |

our webmaster links all track for the referral program. how you can say anyone is cleaner is beyond me- there is no program on the net cleaner than XPays with regards to tracking and not supporting shadiness.

2. I dont have a wm ref program. |
I don't know how to do anything other than html coding, so what you see is what you get. All the processing gets handled by Verotel so it's all 3rd party. Plus I vacuum once or twice a week and bathe once a day at least.

As you may, or may not have noticed each of the tour1/index.php has an iframe at the top of the page, in this iframe I set the affiliates cookie. Now, that results in: 1) webmaster links being 'coded' since if ref=NULL in the joinpage, it reads the cookie from ccbill and uses the affiliate id in ccbill 'ccbill_referer' field, feel free to test it. 2) Members-area login back-button issue. It's just how strongbox works, but again, the ccbill_referer value stays if surfer just types the addy again. 3) Customer service link is sent through a php script and to the email. It's just so mailto:[email protected] doesn't get millions of spam messages. It does have a problem with the blank page though. True. Will fix it now. |

congrats on the vacuuming btw :winkwink: , I like to keep it clean too :thumbsup |
Oh, as for 'webmaster link' not being coded. I don't pay for affiliate referrals at all, but I do pay on the surfers who go from 'webmasters'-link to the tour of porngreen and sign-up.

..just to continue that a bit. Even if the 'surfer' clicks on the webmasters link, the only way you're going to 'lose' the surfer is for him to become a webmaster. Otherwise your ccbill cookie will still be stored in his computer..and even if he goes to check my 'sitelist' and check the tours out from there.. you still get credit for the sale. So I really really don't see how you can consider that a traffic leak.
|
A leak is a leak. I admit it is a small one, but anything that takes the surfer away from the site and leads them somewhere that the refering webmaster doesn't make money on is a leak.
I will give you credit (as I do most others) the leak is SMALL. But it is a leak if it isn't paid for, so why have it on the tour? After all, if it doesn't make you money and nobody clicks it, why have it there? |

One idea I had was for affiliates/partner paysite owners to place some of their links on my site......so my preview pages would be a blend of paysite tour and TGP portal. |

I doubt affiliates will find this as a problem other than just to pick on something. On my recent tours I have the members link small on the bottom. And I dont think that should be a issue neither, link opens in a new window too. These two things I wont be changing, and never had anyone complain about them before. Also, I dont think minor issues like these should be a problem with PPS programs. I've seen many many programs with REAL leaks, but they also pay $50+ per trial so I dont complain. |
Also just to add... on the older sites where I do have a members join button/link within the upper part of the tour, I will most likely going back and removing those or linking them to the join page. I dont like to have them in the tour design or standing out, just a small text link on the bottom.

nope. Dont have a wm ref program. Do have small webmaster link on bottom of the tour, burried down there, that open in new windows. If that doesnt make me clean, then so be it :) ... doubt I'll be loosing any pps affiliates over it. Especially when most my competing pps programs have much worse REAL leaks. |

Given I'm not impressed with their "technical" expertice (based on all the various errors/issues I've seen), I simply have no faith that they have any sort of strong session tracking (to try an minimize any cookie loss) that you would get with a system like ccbill. But that's just my opinion. |
It seems kinda silly for those who have almost everything locked down, not to go the last yard. But compared to rest of the crap out there, I feel for the guys who are 99.9% clean, yet getting kicked in this thread for that 0.1% :(
I have lost another half-dozen or so sponsors this week because I f*cked if I'm going to take down AFF links to have someone else send my traffic to them. Come to that, I'm getting tired of seeing SexSearch and AFF banners on here. Not visiting here won't make an iota of difference to them or GFY, but I'm coming around to the idea it might make me feel better... |
Qon runs a tight, no leak, program with Persignup.com. I just went through a few his sites and they seem to be pretty squeeky.

jayeff is the new KRL, great advice and experience, only more eloquent with his words

let me throw this out, game theory
people that do shady shit make more money doing that then people that dont do shady shit the trick is the perception being clean, in a broader sense, there are very few companies that i consider clean, on many different levels, but that is a line that i draw what is not clean: spware, prechecked crossells, treacherous signup pages, poor customer service/cancellation process, "limited" members area on paid trial with access to only 1 or 2 pics/vids but in most cases, the big $$$ is not in being clean. case in point, Webmaster Direct. the people that installed spyware on computers that progressively made the computer inoperable over a period of 3 days after the installation unless the consumer put their cc in and got charged $50 to remove it with that payout, do you know how many sponsors put that on their exits? amazing, it was everywhere movieland.com, for those that remember |
See Sig :thumbsup
