porno jew 03-10-2007 09:01 AM

sometime you have to break a few eggs to make an omelet.

Jman 03-10-2007 09:04 AM

You seem surprised LOL.

QuaWee 03-10-2007 10:18 AM

Michaelious 03-10-2007 10:22 AM

Shocking

Pleasurepays 03-10-2007 10:52 AM

the comedy of people pointing this out (often foreigners) with ill intent, is that it also shows the government is also functioning exactly as it should. the FBI was watched, investigated, reported on and next will be congressional hearings. as usual, the system of checks and balances work quite well.

checks and balances are supposed to STOP things like this from happening, not allow it, and have a dateline special about it a few months later

Tat2Jr 03-10-2007 11:16 AM

and the pendulum swings........

"stop it from happening" - "stop" .... "to put and end to"

you are not exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer.

um.. okay... read carefully

in order to stop something from happening, it can't have ALREADY happened, because if it did, you didn't fucking stop it, it happened

And what's with all the personal insults anyway?

AGREED!

You could also relate this to Scooter Libby lying...being convicted of lying...then being pardoned.

Just ridiculous.

and your argument assumes a perfect government, full of perfect people who never make mistakes, where power is never abused, where the law is never broken.... hence no need to stop it after the fact, as it would never happen.

the system is designed to keep branchs of government and their power in check... not prevent mistakes or abuses from ever happening, under any circumstances, in perpetuity, throughout the universe.

DOCTOR 30 03-10-2007 03:47 PM

The bottom line is that it occured in the first place. Given the opportunity to fuck it up, we will.

That's why Ninjagirl's comment is so on target. These laws are in place to prevent and rehab when things go awry.

When a murderor kills someone it's already happened as well. The best any system can do is learn from the events that take place and respond accordingly (in that case put the person in jail\excecute them as law dictates).

At least in a system based on consequentionalism.

The law can't stop me from getting up and killing my neighbor right now. All it can do is insure I'm punished if I choose to do so.

aico 03-10-2007 04:15 PM

The real story should be "No one seems to care".

ry0t 03-10-2007 05:58 PM

I was suprised to see A. Gonzalez talking about how the FBI will be held accountable. I was happy to see he is working both sides of things to show that he cares.
