Fear Factor South Bay style, or what are those Ethiopians complaining about? (Pics)
The lovely PamiebDVD's took me out to a luscious meal this evening, consisting of white sea worms, crickets and scorpions.
All in all . . . not too bad. Some things tasted better than others, but at least I know if I ever get stranded somewhere with limited resources, I will survive. Here are a few mouthwatering pics. http://juliablue.com/bug20.jpg http://juliablue.com/bug23.jpg http://juliablue.com/bug24.jpg http://juliablue.com/bug25.jpg |

I'm amazed at how many things are actually edible that we don't eat much of. I'd have to be one starving bastard to eat any of that.

You sound like you make a better rep than a meat cutter then! :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh In Costa Rica I refused to eat the mystery meat they sell at the side of the road. I had a "Mexico burger" once when I lived in Escazu, I remember I picked out a foot long tendon piece out of the ground "beef" that was in it. Disgusting meat down there! |

Of course, I used filet mignon for my own hamburger meat. |
The only problem is I don't know if I am picking bugs from my teeth because of dinner or the bike ride home.
|
why would someone want to actually pay to eat bugs ? I will pass and have a veal chop lol

Dinner was really fun.
Didn't mind the pictures at dinner, in fact, there were several girls who thought the pictures were being taken of them and they liked it. Can't say that the worms were my favorite..... But, you've got to try everything at least once. |

Wasn't it these girls that said, "thank you" as they walked by? http://juliablue.com/bug24.jpg |
I eat bugs all the time in Thailand. They are quite good.

lol, as a matter of fact - yes, it was those girls |

I think the sea worms were supposedly prepared "Thai Style" They pretty much tasted like that Tetra-Min flake fish food smells. (Sorry for that - anyone who might be eating while reading this.) |
Quote:
The Thai people have told me that if you get a pregnant scorpion or water bug, it's like winning a min-lottery. :helpme |

There are some eerie things that happen in the meat industry. I prefer my bugs, and worms cooked and hidden inside of a nice Pork Chop, or Rack of Lamb. Anything else would need a shit load of "smoke", and a lot of hot sauce. |

It all looked suprisingly appetizing! NOT Dodger's post tho... wtf is next to those sharks... mice kabobs???? :repuke |
TAste like chicken ???

Wow. I would have loved to try all that food. Some of the giant scorpions and bugs on sticks would have been maybe too much for me -- did you see the size of those suckers?!
But I think it's good to see the Baddog himself has got an open mind about different cultures foods and stuff. Wouldn't surprise me to know if he had a good outlook on life too. |
Quote:
All i can say is that he has more guts than i do. i would not eat that stuff. and yes Baddog has a great outlook on life :thumbsup |
wow.. i can't believe you ate that.. least you tried it once :)
