And are these people gay or straight ?

In my country the HIV/AIDS infection is very low but about 1:700 people got it ?

So why i don't know anybody with HIV/AIDS

In the US, AIDS is a gay disease (IV drug users too).

I would like to dispute this and say that in reality in the US aside from IV drug users in areas that do not have needle exchange programs, AIDS is a poor womans disease specially among minorities. Mostly caused by men contracting it in prison (no condoms allowed) and being released untested back into poor areas where they infect women.

Pretty bold statement.. not that im gay or a IV drug user.. But its not 'Just' a 'Gay Disease'

Sex education in the United States is the biggest load of bullshit. I never heard anything about "high risk" practices, but plenty about "alternatives." No one is telling kids these statistics so they don't offend anyone.

Hell, I went to private schools and all I ever saw was an abstinance video were some couple got married and both of them died of AIDS. The evangelicals who made it were so brain dead they couldn't figure out the logical conclusion to the video was that there was if you save sex for marriage you still could get STDs because your partner may have not.

We all know that fear is the silliest method of preventing behavior, especially when its a body function as natural and normal as eating. The second worst is ignorance, by not telling kids the truth.

Brazil is a country that recently approved having condom vending machines in their schools. They have recently (a couple of years back) revamped there health education system and have reduced their hiv rates to almost to exactly the same rates as in the U.S. and you know there is more wild sex going on in Brazil...:)

Maybe we can learn a little from Brazil's openess and also its ability to use ethanol as alternative fuels for automobiles..lol

I am not pleased to report this. I have friends who are gay. I also support gay marriage. I believe gay marriage may introduce much needed stability into the gay community. There are also compelling civil rights reasons for gay marriage.
