A reason for racism?
 

I took my 11 year old niece to see Epic Movie tonight. We had just gotten our soda and candy and we're going to the theater when we passed a large group of blacks (probably in the 18-23 year old range). They didn't bother us but they were harassing another group of kids as we walked by. I honestly didn't even pay attention and we took our seats in the theater. A few minutes later my niece wanted popcorn so without thinking twice I gave her cash and told her to go get it. She left and was gone for 5 minutes or so.

So first off I currently reside in a very small town on the border of Ohio and West Virginia, where there is very few problems, and I am 33 years old. I had also asked my niece to bring straws as I had forgotten them, but when she came back she was visibly shaken. I asked what was wrong and she said the black kids (there was about 8 of them) backed her into a corner and were demanding she give them her popcorn. She managed to get away and run to the theater.

So I am not going to act like some bullshit bad ass, but I'd like to think anyone on here would defend their family no matter what. I left the theater and saw the group in the hallway. I chastised them for harassing my niece, and one of the black males starting talking shit to me. I got up in his face and begged him to do something.

So here is what happened. One of the guys got up behind me and sucker punched me, splitting open my lip pretty bad. I threw a back elbow that caught him pretty flush, and took his friend that was in my face down and started to pound him. I was fucking him up pretty bad when his friends started to kick me as I was on top of him. At this point I was in a pretty bad spot.

Funny thing though, as I thought I was fucked two anonymous rednecks (and I say this respectfully) pulled the other two off and threw them a pretty good beating. I was able to concentrate on the one I had down and gave him some ground and pound he won't soon forget.

First of all I am forever indebted to the two guys that helped me out, even though I was a stranger to them. They bailed before the cops got there and I can't blame them, but without them I would be a grease spot on the theater floor.

Second I would like to thank the St Clairsville, Oh Police Department, as they treated me with the utmost respect as they were sorting things out.

So here is my final issue. Blacks are always the first to scream racism, irregardless of the situation. But the fact of the matter is while I don't deny racism is an obstacle they face every day, I also feel they they bring a lot of it upon themselves by their actions. Flame away at me if you'd like, but I don't see groups of white kids pulling the same shit.

I have no problem saying this, you take a random sampling of 100 groups of black kids in that age group, and you take another random sampling of 100 groups of white kids in that age group, violence will be at least 75% higher amongst blacks...

Actually let me rephrase that, while I'm sure there are large groups of white kids that are punks I seem to see it 90% more often from large groups of black kids.

Oh and also, groups of blacks in movie theaters or malls... jesus, I AVOID going to the mall or movies on saturday nights because for some reason they like to come out of the wood work and start shit. i too am from ohio (north eastern), I don't know if it's just an ohio thing but it's what I have observed.

On a side note I had the same kind of shit happen with a black crew at a strip club... but it was a black on black fight... and it wasn't a popcorn story.

The thing that really bothered me is my niece looks every bit of 11 years old. She is the epitome of girly girl and is very timid. She would never start shit and would never want it started with her.

I don't think that's quite accurate... Of course there exists trouble makers in every walk of life (color, religion, etc..), that isn't disputed.. The issue is the % of trouble makers in these ethnicities, and I think it's safe to say there's quite a higher % amongst blacks... I'm just speaking from experience.. and also the prison population is overwhelmingly black if I recall correctly if that holds any weight in the issue.

Honestly man it could have been all girls bothering my niece and right or wrong I would have gotten physical. She is a really sweet girl and a total pacifist.

Again I want to mention I am in St Clairsville, Oh, about 10 minutes from Wheeling, WV. Sure there are a TON of white kid punks around here but none that get violent. They are just loud mouth smart asses. Also, I spent 10 years running adult bookstores that were located next to some of the US's worst projects, so believe me I know the difference.

On this note My son is a manager at a an AMC 24 screen theatre and he tells me that most of the problems they get are from white Russian gangs.

From starting fights to opening the back door so all their friends can get in for free etc...

here's a note on black people. there are very few black people where i live - the 'ghetos' are mostly poor white and native american and they act very much like how you refer to poor black people in american cities, crime, violence, slum blds, etc.

the only black people till i was 25+ i knew made more money then me, had more education than me, or were better then me in some way, sports, money, etc. i was prejusticed against blacks - but the exact oposite of most of the USA, i thought they were all upper class people and i considered many my friends but till then every black guy i met i figgured was super successful and a nice person cause that was all i had ever met.

There are some sound reasons for racism. It is just political incorrect to say that.
The scientist already discovered some races just have more "criminal gene" than the others. The blacks tend to commit more crimes because the genes inside them. They are just like the Pit Bulls in the dog familiy, at the right place at the right time, their animal instincts would urge them to do some serious biting. Science and Stats do not lie.

That doesn't surprise me at all, which is why people need to stop looking at the skin color and begin looking at the culture.

Entitlement culture naturally breeds resentment and hate, and it is not limited to any skin color.

There is a high value to education is that it reduces crime, but only when the culture one is raised in places a high value on education. Entitlement cultures do not place value on education. First of all genius, they were in the hallway in between me and the lobby, and there is no security. This isn't a movie theater in a big city, this is tiny fucking St. Clairsville. Security might have been a 15 year old kid working the concession stand.

Second, I didn't go out there with the intention of fighting. I strictly went out because my niece was shaken up pretty badly and I would have said something to management but one of them immediately got in my face. I'm sorry if you are a little bitch that would've dick tucked and ran, but I won't allow anyone to sucker punch me.

Third, I knew for sure it was the same kids because I saw them harassing others as I went to my theater and my niece told me is was them. I said I meant it respectfully. I have only lived in this small town a short while, but around here the rednecks know they are rednecks and embrace it. Being so close to West Virginia you probably see more Rebel flags in the windows of pick up trucks than you do anywhere else but in the south. I'm going to have to agree with you there. The main adult bookstore I ran was next door to one of the most violent projects in the midwest. Again I'm really not trying to come off like a racist here, but the feelings I have, like tical said, are from experience.

if you and your niece(or whoever) take a trip all over the world, you see how many morons are there with any types of skin colours(especially among white brothers). You'll surprise that you will never feel safe, except you don't know about danger near you.

There are genuinely good black people that feel the same way. I had a black roommate for 5 years and the shit that would come out of his mouth towards other blacks would astound me. You speak the truth. When I first moved here it was about 10% black and was extremely peaceful. Now it's about 70% black or so and it's quite the mess. You can't leave anything unlocked here -- if you do, consider it stolen. I made the mistake of leaving the garage door open for about five minutes when I got sidetracked cooking... in that short window I had around $2k worth of tools and a $4k generator stolen. In FIVE minutes. I never had to worry about those problems six years ago when it was predominately white.
