Rankings 01-30-2007 02:05 PM

odd, but congrats.. do note though, if full tilt was to find out your bringing in alot of US players via your affiiate account, they will close your account and freeze earnings.

I only know this because I have talked to 4 people that has been removed from their database.

per their pr mananger, they will be closing the game to all US players in the next 3 to 4 weeks, though this does not effect your foriegn players, which is where you will maintain and gain new players under you account which is what will be beneficial to you.. just a heads up. I never want anyone to take a loss, so i figured i would provide you will a bit of helpful info

i should follow up by saying that the above is just info that has been brought my way, i actually do not have any proof, so by all means, this was just food for thought

polle54 01-30-2007 04:24 PM

Okay fuck it

I will give you guys some guideline if some of you is thinking about playing poker for the money instead of for the laugh.

These are estimates and if you disagree and think TAG should be played differently just write your corrections

Off to bed
__________________________________________________ _____

Preflop play:

When I say raise you always rasie a minimum of 4 times the size of a big blind.
if there are limpers ahead of you, you raise bigger.

Early:
Raise : AQ, AK, JJ-AA.
Limp in on : AJs, 22-1010.
Fold : All other hands.

Middle:
Raise : AJ, AQ, AK, 1010-AA
Limp in on : 22-1010.
Fold : all other hands
Raised pot* : call with AQ,AK, 22-JJ and reraise the pot to circa 3.5 times the raise if you have QQ-AA

Late:
If everybody folds and you are on the button or one away:
Feel free to raise a lot of hand from here. Q-10 suited and better hands.
BUT respect a reraise and fold.
also fold if he bets the flop and you didn't hit anything and dont have a decent draw.
If there's a lot of callers in front of you you bet a little more.

Scenario:
You are on the button holding: AQ - big blind is $0.25
4 people before you limp in paying the $0.25
You raise the pot to $2 - 4xBB plus 4 limpers at $0.25 makes $2.

So in general be aggresive from the button espcially if no one is in the pot but big blind and small blind.

Postflop Play:

Protect your good hands:
classic scenario
you are holding 44 and you hit the last 4. but there are also two cards of the same color on the deck.
To ensure you don't get bad beated by a flush you have to bet full pot here, for the love of god, don't fucking slowplay this one
If someone raise before you, you reraise, You have a slid hand, so protect it!

Draws
You have two diamonds and there are two on the flop
if you only have one opponent and he checks to you, then make a semibluff and bet the size of the pot
When you have these draws you will hit 1/3 the times, so you have to win it occasinally without hitting
to be a winning player :)

Remember, don't call if you have the feeling you are behind, 9 out 10 times your instinct has it right in those situations.
Don't become a calling station

Bankroll Management:

since it's gambling the game varies even if you play 100% correct.
even if you are 92% favorite of winning a hand, the opponent will win 8 our 100 times.

You need to have 20 times the max limit you play:
$500 bankroll if you play NL $25.

That's all folks, there's a lot of things I haven't told but I don't got all night :)

Such good advice:thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup ....but it's so tempting to slow play when you flop trips

yeah but the value of the hand is drastically decreased if it's not protected so it's the right thing to do for sure :)

Opinions... Where would you place Phil Ivey then? Surely not below Huck Seed he's been so up and down you hardly hear about him anymore.. I wouldn't put the Gus in the top 5 even.. With names and wins by Doyle, TJ, and Barry Greenstein (He's been tearing up the pro circuit this year btw) and a handfull of others I'm not sure either would make my top 15 IMHO :upsidedow

But what do I know... :winkwink:
:pimp

Actually, had I named my top 5, Phil Ivey would have been #3. The others though? C'mon. Doyle is pretty much a name only now and wins a lot of pots out of fear and respect FOR his name. TJ can still play, but isn't a top 10 player anymore either imo. Greenstein is good, and might make my top 5.

As for Hansen and Huck Seed...MANY circuit players will tell you that Huck Seed is THE best NL hold'em player and dominates the side games (I saw a poll recently amongst them and that's where I got that result btw). He doesn't get a lot of TV time, but if you watch him play, you can see the guy has serious game, and his personality would allow him to fly under the radar as well.

I saw the two of them go headsup recently. Seed completely dominated Hansen to the point of actually making him look foolish. I've never seen Hansen look flustered before that. Then, Hansen made a couple of adjustments and came back to win. Even in losing though, Seed didn't look bad.

If you combine that episode with the way he can change up his game, and play tight, or play 5 9 offsuit and scare players away with his post flop play, that's why I think Hansen is so dangerous. Probably his biggest weakness is that he rarely DOES play tight. He seems to get impatient or bored at the table and has to be throwing his chips in the middle. But his post flop play alone puts him above everyone...again, imo.
