WTF, intercosmos.com Threatening To Shut My TGP Sites Down
 

The legal department has been requested to review your domain site for possible illegal content. We require a current state issued photo id or passport for the models represented on the followings site that clearly shows their face and their date of birth. We request that this information be submitted to our offices by 4:00pm central time, Monday, December 18, 2006, or we will be forced to close this site down and report it to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Actually the domains in question are through DirectNic which they do list on their page, but don't say they're a part of their company.

As far as hosting goes, I go through http://www.advancedhosters.com

Other than that, I see no connection to me. One thing though, they did list all of the domains that I have listed through DirectNic, including ones that I'm not using.

I don't see how they can try to police my sites like that.

Id so mirror and transfer your sites post haste to another host and registrar.

This will be interesting if it does end up to be directnic.. I've been paying their high registry fees with my best names and sites, to avoid problems like this. Simply because directnic seemed to be adult based.

One thing that scares me about this is that they claim to have a legal lock on my account, so I guess that means that there's no way I can transfer away.

Maybe try calling up the dierectNic guys one or two of them post here. So maybe they could point you in the right direction.

well to be honest that Filthy Brats has some pretty young looking girls on it..not saying they are underage..just saying that I could see someone questioning the ages of some of those girls and I can see a prob if you dont have 2257 docs for those especially.

the injunction only applies to Free Speech Coalition members and that hasnt stopped the FBI from doing inspections..they inspected a FSC member very recently..
anyway the law says if you have explicit pics on your site..you gotta have the docs..being a TGP is irrelevant

Im not saying you are doing anything shady at all..just giving you a perspective as to why/what may be causing someone to question you about having the docs and what they may be refering to.

Godaddy isn't known for their friendliness to adult sites. I'd stick to namecheap out of the two..

How so? I have over 700 adult domains with Go Daddy. No problems.

I always hear people saying stay away from Go Daddy, but I've never seen any actual reasons or experiences to make me stay away. Its always hearsay.

Well, I just put my domains at low security, it says it takes 15 minutes to take effect, we'll see if they did lock me or not.

Ask Juicy about that one.. I remember them locking one of his domains about 2 years ago.. Think it cost him around $500 to get it unlocked if I remember right. He posted about it here on GFY. So if the search works you can probably find it.

If they are still "legal locked" (lol, what a term) then you should consider setting up a new TGP on a domain registered elsewhere, possibly another host too, and start funnelling traffic towards it. Just be prepared for the worst.

BTW her sig says "The Producers, Inc" - if you do a web search that appears to be a marketing company. I guess it's just someone wearing more than one hat but you may also wish to follow that up. The street address in her sig and the contact address on http://www.pros1.com/ do not match.

I just tried to move away one of my domains to Namecheap. We'll see if it goes through, if so, I'll get the rest moved over ASAP.

Indicates to me that Directnic received a complaint and instead of directing the person to a responsible government agency they try to investigate it themselves and making threats that they shouldn't make.

Change the registrar, tell them that they can't receive the 2257 documents from you because they are not a government agency and you have to protect the models privacy, but they can try their luck with the linked content owners. If a responsible agency would contact you, you would of course show them all the 2257 documents.

Because the girls on majorpervert seem underage, the average user might think that they indeed are, but in fact they just look young.
