Its called security risk scoring, to keep the USA safe...

If it saves a packed commercial aircraft someday the US government will be the heroes...I hate giving up freedom but if its for security it means independence... :thumbsup

There was a decent tourist trade to the US - once. Now that that's a dying biz they are obviously trying to hammer the last nail in the coffin.

Reminds me - it's time to organize webmaster conferences outside US territory and in locations which are not a hassle for a number of webmasters to get visas.

The operative words here are 'essential liberty'.

What you've done is to hear a quote by a famous man then parrot it on a board without understanding what it means.

To not have data about yourself collected in time of war is not an 'essential liberty'. However, to live in a society free (or as close to free as can be achieved) of terrorism IS an 'essential liberty'.

Kinda related link...

This is a scenario of monitoring in the UK - and sure as death and taxes, the UK and the US are going towards a total lack of privacy and constant sustained monitoring of citizens:

PS Sure, there are less CCTV cameras in the US generally, but that's only a matter of time before they catch up - it's a big country to cover.

the UK is getting a bit dodgy, but thankfully its no where near as bad as the US. lets face it, the US has become a police state

Typical conservative response. If someone questions, the little ones just don't understand.

Sad part is, you don't seem to understand that you country is being taken away from you little by little. When it is gone, all you right wingers are gonna be screaming, why didn't anyone do anything.

Good thing there will be some oversight come January:thumbsup
