Headliners were Three Dog Night, with lead acts (in order) Head Over Hills, Grass Roots, and Steppenwolf.

I believe tickets were $3.50 each.

I guess that doesn't count the free concerts at Golden Gate Park on Sunday afternoons, at the bandshell where people like the Dead, Big Brother, Janis, and Jefferson Airplane.

DANZIG - LONG WAY BACK FROM HELL TOUR (Soundgarden, Corrosion Of Conformity opening)

First real concert I saw was Rush. This was back in late 1974, about 3 or 4 months before they released the album "Fly by Night". It was a local non-liquor serving club and the ticket price was a whopping $1.

There was one show that I almost went to before that though. I used to help out with the next door neighbor's then brand new 1967 Super Stock Camaro. He and the race team were planning to go to a show that ended up getting cancelled at the last minute in Dallas, TX in late '67.

The "headliner" for that show was the Monkees', I didn't really give a shit about that, they were the boy-band of the time back then. But by a VERY strange twist of talent, the opening act was none other than one James Marshall Hendrix.

NO SHIT!!! what a mis-match of all time for the debut of Jimi!!!!

Mostly local bands in the 70's, until 1981's Canada Jam Fest at Winnipeg Stadium....
Heart, Ted Nugent, Loverboy, Blue Oyster Cult, and The Rockets.

It was the first "rush seating" concert I'd ever been to as well. It wasn't too long after that they stopped doing that, after a bunch of people got trampled down in the states. That rush seating with 20,000 people was a trip though. :D

The actual first on I went to was America in the late 70's

I saw him in the early/mid 90s, too. I was a student at Auburn and he played there with Living Color. He was so damn drunk he could barely stand up. He split his pants in the back and everyone was laughing at him. He did two songs (that you couldn't understand), then fell off the fucking stage. :1orglaugh

The people in the audience were literally trying to kick him and punch him. His people had to run out and drag him off before they killed him. Living Color came back on and played the rest of the night. They were actually pretty good.

uhm I hate to admit this but boys to men at the then great western forum,my girlfriend at the time made me do it, oh I highly recomend seeing a concert at the gorge in gorge, washington state awesome, one of the best places I've been to a concert at

Negative....first off, its spelled Crue..secondly, the only time Motley Crue toured with Ozzy was in 1984. If you saw Ozzy's "Bark at the Moon" tour in 1984, Jake E. Lee was on guitar. Randy Rhodes died 3-19-82.
