"As the World's first airline re-allowing their guests to smoke, SMINTAIR is entering many uncovered niches in aviation, designed to give the traveller maximum pleasure out of their flight experience. SMINTAIR spends more than three times the amount usually invested on passenger's nourishment. Signature recipes created by internationally renowned chefs will make each meal a feast. Charming and beautiful flight attendants in uniforms designed by famous couturiers are there to take the very best care of you. Every two years, a new designer will be elected to keep the uniform design á la mode. SMINTAIR is currently talking to potential sponsors offering luxurious merchandise.

Everything from caviar to clothes and smoker's utensils to jewellery will be offered for free consumption or at special duty free prices during our flights."

Good luck to 'em...

darksoul 11-27-2006 05:17 AM

thats pretty neat
I'll be a customer for sure.

Why 11-27-2006 06:20 AM

US Government does not allow flights in the States to allow smoking... so that limits a lot of prime destinations for them.

reynold 11-27-2006 06:47 AM

That defines a true relaxing flight. :pimp

TSGlider 11-27-2006 06:51 AM

I think the U.S. tried this about 10 or 15 years ago...about five years after smoking was banned on all domestic flights. They went belly-up pretty quick.

VegasKingPin 11-27-2006 06:52 AM

now thats a airline that i would fly with all the time , i hate these long flights and you dying for a smoke and you cant do shit about it.. i think its a great idea :thumbsup

Well then obviously this airline will not be for you. This having been said, their website goes on to claim that "non-smokers will find the cabin air more refreshing than on any other flight with any other airline since we will be adding fresh outside air to the conditioning system."

Must be a very good aircon to deal with the smoke of 100+ smokers...

That's because it is not yet launched. You can point your German friends to http://www.focus.de/reisen/trends-se...id_22377.html?

chodadog 11-27-2006 03:25 PM

It is for real. I doubt the BBC would be talking about if it weren't.

I wonder how they'll solve issues related to the outflow valve. It was one of the major reasons smoking was banned from planes in the first place. The outflow valve is constnatly opening and closing to maintain cabin pressure. Nicotine can get stuck to the outflow valve and prevent it from opening or closing. It ends looking like someone's just scooped up some margarine and just lathered it all over the thing. It's really quite disgusting.

But anyways. Blocked outflow valve = bad news. And it used to build up pretty quickly. I wonder how quick it will build up with every passenger flying having a smoke.

So would I, but unfortunatly only one route initially planned Dusseldorf-Tokyo which is wise, Japanese businessmen like a good smoke...

Any conferences planned for Japan next year?:winkwink:

Scott McD 11-27-2006 06:36 PM

A long journey on a smoke filled plane ? No thanks...
