Where is the problem with GFY - server or soft ?
Sometimes, everyday here are some pauses on GFY - some 15-30 seconds. This is a server problem or software can not work with so many users ?
Who know it ? |
maybe gfy is under constant ddos attacks...and they just dont tell us...
|
They have integrated so much security bullshit into vBulletin it probably drags ass because of that. This is highly modified. Madawgz just please stfu loser.
|
probably a mixture of both.
|
It runs smooth when the squishy post whore retard army isnt on GFY.
|
They need to hire a real admin
:2 cents: |
bump for a debatable question
|
no idea....

Could be many things....
- Using a php accelerator might help slightly speed things up. Zend, ionCube or even the free eAccelerator for example. - Incase it's webserver load, add more webservers to the load-balanced pool. - Most likely it's the DB load. If tables haven't already been converted to InnoDB, do it. If they are, make sure your my.cnf settings are optimized as much as possible. If you are running the DB on FreeBSD or Linux, try it on a Sun Solaris 10 box - it has benchmarked 60-90% improvements with the same hardware over Redhat. More RAM, better hardware, more slave databases (replication), etc..... There could be tons of suggestions to try that might help. |

I faced this problem before, but i don't think the server can't work with so many people...
|
I dont think it is that simple to just blaim either vbulletin or the server(s).
It is a combination of the hosting setup, the amount of users, the size of databases, amount of visitors etc etc. Although I think gfy should run fine on a cluster kind of setup, just add enough servers till it is stable with a F5 load balancer |
yeah that rule sux,lol
(for sigwores definitly) :) |
