The stupid banks ATM machine ate up my Offshore CC

So I go to the bank to withdraw some money and make a money order, and when I put in my card in the ATM machine (my offshore card), the machine says card has been kept and I Should request a new one.

I go talk to the teller and she says there is nothing I can do, that I have to contact my bank and get a new card.

I explain to her how it will take 2-3 weeks for me to get a new card from my offshore bank, but she keeps saying there is nothing she can do.

What The Fuck??!?!?

cranki 10-11-2006 03:52 PM

beat her up, it helps in 9 out of 10 cases.

wdsguy 10-11-2006 03:52 PM

oh well tough luck.

slapass 10-11-2006 03:53 PM

Did you ask how they could take your property? What do they do with your card?

After Shock Media 10-11-2006 03:55 PM

Stay there and keep bitching, find managers bitch, find higher manager and bitch, move up the chain. Eventually one of them would open the damn machine.

abyss_al 10-11-2006 03:55 PM

they're all retards.. happened to us in vegas... they flagged the card because we were 'spending too much' but they couldn't take the block off until monday morning.. and this was a saturday night

Chris 10-11-2006 03:57 PM

they are lying
they can do something about it ( opening the atm machine ) but it is alot of work / paper work

they do it once a day
most banks do it in the morning

Mr. Romance 10-11-2006 03:59 PM

yeah cards kept by the machine are destroyed

Mr. Romance

WarChild 10-11-2006 03:59 PM

What you want to do is call the IRS. They can order the bank to return the card. Just tell them that the bank machine ate your offshore bank card, and although you like skipping out on taxes, this process is really becoming a burden. I'm sure they'll set you right up.

directfiesta 10-11-2006 04:02 PM

I have accounts " offshore " ... I use checks also ... so write a check...

Now, if you a referring to Epass as your " offshore " , well you are fucked... in the ass :upsidedow

the banks do not / cannot touch the machines.. they are handled by a third party that comes and handles the atm machines

dunefield 10-11-2006 04:04 PM

She's right... There is nothing she can do...

There is nothing keeping em from getting the card out of the ATM and returning it - forget the servants and pay a visit to the manager and tell em their ATM is shit and you want your card back now.

jact 10-11-2006 05:09 PM

a Scotiabank machine ate my Paypal card once, they weren't going to give it back but after 10 minutes of me in their faces they opened the machine and gave it back to me.

xclusive 10-11-2006 05:09 PM

Find thier personal email accounts and spam the fuck out of them. That will show them that it doesn't pay to fuck with the bdjuf

jimthefiend 10-11-2006 05:24 PM

Alot of banks wont do SHIT unless it's a card for THEIR bank, and apparently they can get away with it.

I left my Epass card in an atm a while back, realized it 5 minutes later and went back. Bitch said she didnt have to do shit and in fact had already cut it up.

gecko 10-11-2006 05:40 PM

PlugRush Sascha 10-11-2006 05:43 PM

minusonebit 10-11-2006 05:49 PM

You know, for all the problem banks are, is amazing that people still continue to deal with them.

Vitasoy 10-11-2006 05:59 PM

rodney25 10-11-2006 06:19 PM

wedouglas 10-11-2006 06:32 PM

Same thing happened to me in vegas.

Damn strippers =(

notabook 10-11-2006 08:07 PM

Why do people say ATM machine? The machine is redundant since ATM stands for Automated Teller Machine. Oh well, I guess it?s just like that taco I ate for lunch and it just ended up as shit. :Oh crap

amateurcanada 10-11-2006 08:21 PM

Offshore is international, unless there was a legal issue I believe its like stealing property from you, perhaps there was an error in the machine?

I'm pretty sure that most cards are issued to you by the bank, but remain the property of the bank. They make take them from you at any time. :2 cents:

reynold 10-12-2006 12:00 AM

That's fucked up. I hope you already get a replacement.

gooddomains 10-12-2006 12:03 AM

They are not destroyed.

It happened to me once, when I entered the PIN code wrong. I went to the bank office and they got my card the next day. You need to show them your ID to match with the name on the card.

thats not always possible :winkwink:

KaLi 10-12-2006 02:11 AM

I actually own an ATM company and believe me its not easy to remove a stuck card from a machine, although it does depend on the machine.

The teller can open the machine, as it is most of their daily jobs to balance the ATM, but that depends on the bank as well. She probably wouldn't know what to do anyway.

I would just bitch and make them call a tech on the spot. There are techs in every city, and most of them have on-call contracts with banks and ATM owners. There's no reason to wait that long unless they have some sort of issue with your card.

:)
