Internext Las Vegas Gets Refreshed

Internext Las Vegas Gets Refreshed

CHATSWORTH, Calif. - Building on the success of Internext Summer, AVN Media Network has announced an all-new January event set to take place in Las Vegas from Jan. 15-17 at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. A newly designed website also has been launched to coincide with the new show.

Renee Johnson, senior show manager says, ?When the Internext team sat down to plan for the Las Vegas show, we decided to take a fresh approach and started brainstorming what would work best for webmasters. What we came up with is a whole new conference that we?re very excited about.?

Internext Las Vegas no longer will have a traditional show floor. It instead will incorporate three distinct areas into what once was the show floor area. The Circle Bar will be the center of the main conference area, an area that also includes The Hub, an expo area to demonstrate and showcase products and services. The final piece is The Network, a lounge area with couches and tables that are perfect for having meetings. Finally, for serious negotiating and/or mixers, deal-making suites were created for companies that require a private space.

The educational format for Internext Las Vegas also has been revamped. Two separate educational tracks to keep both newbies and veterans abreast of the latest issues and trends, as well as important legal issues, have been developed.

Internext?s seminar series will feature two-hour blocks composed of a one-hour panel discussion followed by breakout sessions, complete with an open bar, so attendees can spend some one-on-one time speaking with our panelists.

On the second educational track, industry experts will conduct intensive workshops in an intimate classroom setting that will foster learning and communication.

?After careful consideration of the feedback we received, a whole new Internext event has been designed to meet the needs of the community. We?re excited and feel Internext Las Vegas will once again set the bar for adult webmaster shows,? says Farley Cahen, publisher of AVN Online.

The three-day conference, from Jan. 15-17, 2007, comes complete with daily complimentary brunch and themed happy hours. Registration is $250 per person before Nov. 30, and $300 thereafter. Register at Interenxt-Expo.com and contact Rose Travel & Tours at (800) 666-0696 to reserve your room today.

Contact your account executive at (818) 718-5788 or [email protected] for information on sponsorship and advertising opportunities.

Planning an event or party for Internext Las Vegas? Email [email protected] with details, and we?ll post your information on Internext-Expo.com.

werd, will anyone go to this?

After Shock Media 09-13-2006 01:01 PM

Damn it I said free punch & pie in the seminars, not an open bar.

Shok 09-13-2006 01:01 PM

So really the show floor got revamped because not enough people are buying booths anymore, right?

Joesho 09-13-2006 01:02 PM

I will be there, and appreciate all the support AVN has given the adult industry over the years .

Cory W 09-13-2006 01:03 PM

Looks good Edison, give Renee a hug for me.

: )

RayVega 09-13-2006 01:05 PM

Well that's refreshing

NiggaRiche 09-13-2006 01:19 PM

drinks on avn? im down for cristal

Anna_O 09-13-2006 01:22 PM

Sounds good, the Hotel at Mandalay is way better than the Venetian anyway... But were you on crack when you guys designed that website?

...so there's no punch and pie? :upsidedow

WiredGuy 09-13-2006 01:48 PM

So is the $250 charge to attend only the seminars? If I don't attend the seminars, I assume I wouldn't need a badge?

No offense to AVN, but I think the price should accordingly be reduced since there's no more show floor.

Ramos 09-13-2006 01:50 PM

Last Time I was at Mandalay Bay, juicy and I bumped into 2 craigslist hookers in the hallway, we didn't believe them until they came to our room and showed us there ads on craigslist :2 cents:

Congrats! This is refreshing :)

Sebastian Sands 09-13-2006 01:58 PM

$250.00 for what exactly?.. Seminars?.. the open bar?.. for that kind of money you better feed me for 3 days too. Talk to the ppl from PHX forum they can tell you how it's done. Just my 2 cents

crazies 09-13-2006 02:11 PM

Good Stuff Edison :thumbsup

Unfortunately I have about as much faith in Rose Travel & Tours in getting me a room as I do Godzilla. I have tried contacting them to reserve a room 3 years in a row and each time I got a recorder, left a message and heard nothing back from them.

So my advice is for everyone to contact Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino directly and save the frustration.

Ditto 09-13-2006 02:11 PM

Wow $250 to sit around and talk?? To me sounds like they are hurting from no one attending last year and making up for it. They should be more clear on what the $250 is for

Sosa 09-13-2006 02:16 PM

sound pricey for what is being offered unless you just go drink up a $300 bar tab

WG

your kidding right?

these blood sucking vampires drop the price?

surely you JEST...

and see whats funny is they are starting to come to terms with the fact that they have cut off there nose to spite the face..

but instead of doing something smart... say lowering the prices.. trying to get the sales + attendence back up.. what do they do

stick you at a bar thats going to be open for 2 hours a day lol.

so the other...22.. cash bar eh avn?

you guys are fuckin clowns.. and i swear.. if i didnt have so many people going to your shows who i need to have face to face convos with you wouldnt ever catch me there.

it makes me shiver paying you bozos.

and as it clearly showed at the fl show.. i am not the only one.

fuckin ghost town on that show floor... what used to be so packed youd bump into people left and right..

used to be booked solid.. now.. you are hearding us to a bar

lol....

please tell me SOMEONE in your camp can see that youve done this to yourself..

on another note.. you can still dig yourself outta this..
if you do something asap.

but knowing your greed i dont think thats going to happen....

so.. as phx forum, webmasteraccess, xbiz and jbm shows grow bigger and bigger.. you will slowly die...

might wanna change something besides the show floor there guys.

:1orglaugh

Juicy D. Links 09-13-2006 02:32 PM

What about hookers?

Please include one blowjob and teabagging with every badge purchase

BigPimpCash 09-13-2006 02:57 PM

Hmmm...

I'm in vegas around that time... so will check it out :winkwink:

tranza 09-13-2006 03:05 PM

Thanks for that article.

MichaelP 09-13-2006 03:06 PM

We'll be there :thumbsup

Elli 09-13-2006 03:22 PM

Wait a second...

You can't take the "Circle Bar" from the Venetian and drop it in the middle of a "conference area" which is actually in the middle of the show floor "expo area." That's a bit of a misnomer, eh?

Brandon,
This my friend is worth more than $250.

You can't put a price on how much business and opportunities you can do at Internext.

If anyone have any issues or questions regarding Internext Expo 2007 in Las Vegas, feel free to send me an email [email protected]. I'd be glad to sort things out with you on any cases.

Thanks.

we arent on a friend level. i dont know you.
and surely you can put a price on you. your company has done it for years.

and increased that price every year.

so.. all that you got out of my post was the fact that we dont have a choice but to use your services if we want to meet with our cohorts face to face a couple times a year?

so.. in a nutshell you dont really give a fuck about what we have to say.. you dont give a fuck that your attendence level is at an all time low.. you dont give a fuck that people are boycottin your shows due to your greed..

all you read was "hes comming to meet his frends.. got that guy for atleast 3 bones! score!"

lol vampires.. the lot of yous..

Here here

250 -300 $ is a bit too high for seminars and meets and greets .. Why not do like years past .. have a surplus charge for seminars ... say 200 for the show and 250 for seminars .. a price point like this should actually get people to take the seminar package

Mr. Romance 09-13-2006 03:43 PM

no offense to AVN .. I apreciate all yučve done for the adult industry .. but lets keep in mind the networking lost at last years show. Sorry guys .. but last year was a real cluster fuck ... Many of us attendees missed lots of networking opertunities due to the coupling of AVN and Internext, not to mention the very well hidden and badly attended show room floor .. Rather then make money this year .. Try to regain our trust in an otherwise fantasic convention (prior 2006)

EZRhino 09-13-2006 03:55 PM

Excellent, see you guys in Vegas

Jace 09-13-2006 04:02 PM

wow, how nice to see avn really listening to webmasters....NOT

jesus, so basically, if you want to attend Internext in Vegas you have to pay $250/$300, and if you also want to attend seminars you have to pay $250/$300?

let me get this straight, if I was to attend I would be paying for everyone elses seminars? oh wait, they are already attending them, so where is that extra money I am giving you going? Say Joe Schmoe spends $250 and goes to all the seminars, what do I get if I dont' go to all the seminars/extras?

AVN, i have to hand it to you all, every year I think to myself "maybe they learned from the previous shows, and they will do it right this time!"....but no, every time you all throw an internext you fuck it up even worse than the previous ones

I suggest you all take some notes from some of the insanely successful other shows that are happening all around you

Jace 09-13-2006 04:04 PM

also, let me add, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what AVN is pure greed in it's most concentrated form

Look at Internext compared to every other show out there...look at what you get for your money at all the different shows (free and pay shows), then look at AVN and their Internext show

AVN does not, nor have they ever, cared about webmasters

UniversalPass Pete 09-13-2006 04:08 PM

Sounds great! look forward to being there.:thumbsup

HomeFry 09-13-2006 04:09 PM

Can you give me my money back from last year?

Just kidding.

HomeFry 09-13-2006 04:12 PM

AVN needs to WINE AND DINE the webmasters for many years to build trust back up. Free entry, Open Bars, Free Meals, Discounted Shows, Private Rooms for Biz Deals, Free Plane Tickets for Sponsors, and so on... Kiss my ass and maybe I'll give you some of my $ again.

bsgross 09-13-2006 04:13 PM

Farley

Farley Rocks.

chri$tian 09-13-2006 04:18 PM

Farley is a cool kat... looking forward to see how this new and possibly improved show turns out..

Herb Kornfield 09-13-2006 04:23 PM

A packed floor is king.

Information Week *RIPPED* apart the last convention while CES's Convention coverage was going down.. The attendance was laughable in terms of calling it a convention.

Pics of the last one showed quite a lot of empty floor space.

I'd make it $50 for a pass as a "AVN subscriber" and give sponors free tickets to hand out as they see fit... and then, you will fill the floor with people...more booths, people will make it a point to be therem, and BAYUM things are jumping.... for shit's sake your in Vegas, captial of all things party.

There needs to be a reason to make it something not to be missed and the return of the LIkeWhoa bar isnt the answer.

MikeG 09-13-2006 04:25 PM

I like the sound of the new format. I'm looking forward to attending in Jan.

Z 09-13-2006 04:34 PM

I appreciate all that AVN's done for the business as a whole, but also definitely agree that in the last few years, they've completely fucked Internext up. Let's put ourselves in their shoes for a minute though...they're a business too. They can't put on what is no doubt a multi-million dollar show and lose $ just because they want to send their reps to say Hi to us. (Can they? Does advertising revenue in the magazine justify that???)

I'm sure there's a way they could make this less painful by charging less for badges, letting talent and models in free again (MAJOR mistake changing that) and showing the industry that you appreciate us as much as you expect us to appreciate you. If the Internext organizers keep fucking up (last year was a damned nightmare), they'll lose everybody who still comes now to the other shows and it'll be their loss. AVN will become a sponsor at other shows instead of the show that everybody looks forward to all year.

But when it comes down to it, if you go to a show and don't make more than you spent...you're just plain doing something wrong. It means you're spending too much time partying and not enough doing business. So, don't blame AVNs fuckups for everything.

No, there's only one fee to attend the show, seminar, etc.

Weird, many go for the tradeshow and parties ...

Farley 09-13-2006 05:28 PM

Thanks for love everyone!

This show is definitely going to be a good one. The format has been modified to make it easy to get to the show early, eat, relax, network, drink and do good business.

We've added some very interesting & targeted educational workshops and classes in addition to the always popular and informative seminars.

The Mandalay Bay is excited to have us. The hotel has a number of outstanding restaurants and clubs.

To date, 10 different companies have expressed interest in throwing some major parties. Mix, Rum Jungle, House of Blues and 40 Deuce are all in the hotel and enthused to accommodate us for parties.

I'll personally take any questions or suggestions from anyone.
Please don't hesitate to email me directly farley[at]avn.com or call 818-718-5788.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in January and thanks to everyone for the support.

Regards,
Farley

RRRED 09-13-2006 05:58 PM

So is this going to be in conjunction with the avn show and ces too? Or is the timing spaced out?

Cyndalie 09-13-2006 06:21 PM

So there will be a show floor with traditional booth space, now called "THE HUB" but you guys are saying that the isn't a show floor and no more booth space?

I dont get it. What EXACTLY are you allowing? Single/Double booths people have invested in creating to ATTEND THIS SHOW FOR YEARS...or just a table and chairs to "network" in front of a sign?

CheeseFrog 09-13-2006 08:22 PM

Last time I went (Internext Vegas '05) I paid $250 for tickets to the showroom floor and spent maybe a grand total of around 40 minutes there. The rest of the time was spent at suite parties. Are we going to need badges to attend the sponsored parties at HoB, Rum Jungle, etc? Or are the badges only for the showroom floor? Because if it's the latter, I'd just as soon forego paying for something I'm probably not going to use anyway. Of course I do appreciate the efforts that AVN has put into these events though.

xNetworx 09-13-2006 08:35 PM

I can't wait to see how this turns out

J.R. 09-13-2006 09:42 PM

Hmmm.. I skipped the last show since the show was
boring and nothing new was going on.

I will wait and see before we decide to bring our krew
over to vegas.

I may just rent a suite at another hotel, there are cheaper places
to stay the Mandalay Gay.
