Strange stats - only like 2% of the join page hits covert to sales!

OK, I won't name the sponsor, because this thread is not supposed to be a sponsor bash. But, would you also say this is strange? I mean if a surfer even clicks through to the join page, he's probably really interested. Of course, some of them only want to checkout the prices, but 117 join page hits and only 2 of those 117 actually joined? So, you'd say that's totally normal or even a quite decent conversion, or would you say there's probably something wrong? Thanks for your opinions! |
It depends on the tour/site...
- is it a one page tour? - is the link to the join page a blind link? - low cost trial or full price normal? And of course also the traffic you send. |
its all about site design.
by the way the image is a red x |
This could be caused by the number of links to the join page that are blind and acting as links to a full video or trailer or something as simple as that.. but you'd have to rule it out for yourself really...
|
is there a form filter before the signup page? (ie a join form that asks for an email address)
|
what is the raw ratio? (1st page)
|
Check their main page..
Some sponsors have a few video clip links that lead to clips, then the rest of the clip links lead to the join page.. Some say, "See the preview" that lead to the join page.. Some hosted galleries have the option to link directly to the join page.. Could be a number of reasons for the join page count.. |
Damn, can't edit the post anymore. OK, as that damn free pix host banned my pic, here it is again on my own hosting now:

Ok, now I'll try to answer all the questions:
@Bossman: - Nope, it's a 4 page tour with trailers - That's a good point, some of the tour pix link to the join page! - And the site has both, full price & low cost trial. It's PPS. @media Yeah, like I already mentioned above - the thumbs on the tour pages lead to the join page, which might be the answer already. Thanks for that hint! @corvette Well, kinda - a form page where you choose the membership type (full/trial), name, country, e-mail, and so on. So if you press the join button it takes you to the paycom form, where you only have to enter your cc details to actually join! @Dirty Dane See re-posted screenshot @Scootermuze See statements above :winkwink: |

You have a site where you can navigate to the signup form without entering any information such as name, address, email address, etc. Scenario #2 You have a site where you can navigate to the signup form only after you enter information such as name, address, email address, etc into the join page form In scenario #1, you are generally going to have a higher ratio of clicks to submissions. I.e. a spyder can hit the signup form in #1 but not #2?and you qualify the surfers to a certain degree |

You have a good ratio compared to most other promoters, but my advise for you is to optimize your portfolio by comparing your own sponsors - not with other promoters. And let your site grow slowly - find other quality sites to trade with. Then it will come and stay steady :) |
Yeah, thanks - I will. I opened a blog (a real one, not one of those free hosted auto feed one's) a month ago which is easier to promote, and that one does pretty well already. So this gives me the opportunity to go slow with the other site. Plus I'm learning everyday reading GFY and other boards. :winkwink:
