lol I have an aunt that married a black guy and when he was a kid he used to catch monkeys and sell them for money, we tease him about that.

I think he was from kenya

You could set out a bucket of fried chicken, a slice of fresh watermelon, and a bottle of grape drink. That always catches monkeys.

Maybe the whole idea is that they are left to run wild in the park?? :winkwink:

OK... To catch a monkey... one method..

Build a caged frame with bars wide enough only to let he monkey's hand thru - no more than that. Inside this cage put a few bananas. Place the cage where the monkeys can see it - then move away.

What happens is the monkey comes to the cage - wants the banana and sticks his hand in to get one. He grabs the banana and he can't pull his clenched fist out of the cage with the banana.

His mind can't comprehend giving up food and releasing the banana and moving away - he has to keep a grip on that banana - and is trapped with his arm stuck in the cage.

You just walk up and collect him :)

PS There is a comparison with humans and greed - they don't know when to let go. But that's another story :winkwink:

if it is the same park that has all the wild racoons you simply lure them with primantis around 3 am.....

monkeys are quite elusive little buggers.....

My grandfather used to tell me stories about catching monkeys in the Khyber Pass during the war.

Come to think of it, when I think about it now it occurs to me that he might have been talking about people. Racist old sod.

Sounds about right - the racism element is still alive and kicking - as you can see from GFY! :winkwink:

He died about 20 years ago, but my gran is still going strong at 91 years of age and she's just as bad. My 71 year-old uncle recently ran off with a 21 year-old black girl and she wrote him out of her will.
