Suspended without pay!
 

I got a call at 8:00am this morning. I was to come intoo work immidiatly. They supended me and five other people without pay pending investigation.

All I can say is fuck!

If anyone needs a hard working person I am available. I can explain the BS circumstances behind my suspension if you want to hear it.

Ok I work or was working in a prison. This is going to be interesting. Last Saturday I was working in our Conrol Unit. Our Control Unit, or as they call it "The Dungeon" Is exactly that a dungeon.

At 4:00pm every day the inmates must all be fed. They get their food in hard (easily breakable)plastic food trays. Now after giving the inmates their 30 mins to eat we pick up the trays.

Well this one kid broke his food trays into pieces. He is standing their holding this sharp piece of plastic saying "I am going to kill you mother fuckers!" "Come get me you little bitches!"

Well what we do in this situation is assemble a five man team dressed in riot gear. And a person to run a video camera to take care of legal issues. I was running the camera taping the situation.

Well after opening the door kisking some ass and some shotty camera work on my part we had gotten away with teaching the kid who was the bitch mother fucker.

I must tell you that the bastard recieved instant medical attention and the medical staff said that he had only minor bumps and bruises.

The real bad thing is that my Luitenant also gave the kid a black eye while he was in restraints. And it didn't look good on the camera. In fact it looked really bad when I "accidently" slipped and missed the whole thing.

So this morning they suspended seven of us. All without pay. And because these investigations usually take 3-4 months I will be very free to do just about anything!

I forgot to mention the BS. The unofficial word from the up high guy we got approval from to use force was "kick his ass"

I didn't realize the point of prison was to see if inmates could take prison guards 1 on 1. I thought the point of prison was to punish people who can't act within the limits of society and to retrain to them to realize that there are in fact consequences for acting like a jackoff.

Hmm....I think there's an easy way to avoid this.

Don't commit crimes.

it takes a big man to stand there by himself with a knife object and say im going to kill you, and an even bigger man to say that the CO's dont have a right or a duty to squelch that problem...

the job of the CO is to "watch" the inmate so to say not beat the shit out of them..its pretty much common sense..most of the CO's I know are ona serious power trip and couldnt kick anyones ass without their riot gear and a backup squad..

I just can't even believe that people would applaud what this guy did, you fucking sicken me. Just wait till one day you get in the car after 2 beers, or have to kick someones ass for your kid & get locked up. Then you'll see who the real animals are in prison/jail...the fucking gaurds. The gaurds instigate the fights, they distribute the drugs, they keep jail the hostile place it is.

its one thing to take down a person with a weapon but beating the dogshit out of them isnt going to help the situation any...if anything all its gonna do is either make the prisoner want to kill another inmate or kill a hack...isnt that what pepper spray is for?

my brother is a big steriod freak looking guy who used to accompany my friends and I as we busted up the redneck parties and kicked heads in, he's far from a pussy on a power trip.... but if an inmate with a weapon stands up and says hes gonna kill him, he's gonna grab his CO buddies and stick it to him =)

I don't care if they couldn't beat the crap out a 6 year old girl without 10 people backing them up to be honest. Prison guards aren't there to prove they can beat up Joe Criminal 1 on 1 in a fair boxing match.

Sometimes CO's have to whack inmates, it happens all the time.
What bothers me about your story is that you say your LT gave the guy a black eye after he was already in restraints.
If he's already in restraints then he's not a threat anymore is he? That sounds like a cheap shot to me, and that's bullshit.

The prisoner made himself a little weapon and was threantening to kill people.

A prison guard should not risk their life to beat this low life scum bag man-to-man.
They should rush the prisoner and take him out.

I agree to an extent...however the way he worded the situation, he was making it out to be some sorta fucking game of beating this kid down & teaching him who's boss.

You neutralize the situation & thats it.....it should never be personal like he described it.

Anyone who has never been in that situation and tries to tell you what they would or wouldn't do is full of it.

Until you work at a job where there is a very real risk of you being attacked and maybe killed, and you are in a situation at that job where someone is threatening to kill you with a weapon, you have no idea what you will or won't do or how you'll react.

Put someone in a high stress job, threaten them and get their adrenaline and survival instincts kicking in then bitch at them for throwing a cheap shot. That's ridiculous.

It's a tough place, if you don't react and react hard then the word gets out and you lose control.

It's not like they went in there to kicks someones ass who was just minding their own business and doing their time.

You either TAKE control or LOSE control.

Would you throw a cheap shot at your own son if he threatened to kill you? No...you would find a way to end the situation & find psychcological help for him. They need to find people that know what loving another human being is about, instead of paying these police officer rejects 13,000$ a year to beat the shit out of prisoners & run drugs.

ZapMan, what state. if it's in california, you can't be suspended w/o pay. it's against POBR (peace office bill of rights).

You should not be a prison guard..Where do you and other corrections officers get off on beating somebody up.? Your job was to restrain him, not beat the shit out of him.
The job of a Corrections Officers is the 3 C's (CARE, CUSTODY, and CONTROL) Nowhere does it say beat the shit out of an immate. I hope you and your friends lose your jobs and are never able to work as a corrections officer again. I dont care if he did threaten you, your JOB was to restrain, put in solitary, and write up a ticket. Yeah, they commited a crime and deserve to be where they are, to pay for their crime. Not to get beat up. Its people like you that are the cause of most prison riots beacuse of THE MALTREATMENT by assholes like you...
