Fidel Castro`s life!
I`m wondering what`s happening with his life after the surgery!
Is he alive or not? |
News reports says he's recuperating from surgery, don't know if it's propaganda though.
|
Heard a strange phrase from NPR the other day about property ownership in Cuba. Something like: "If everyone who claims to own a sugar plantation in Cuba stepped up, the total acreage of area claimed would be greater than the size of China."
Yea, my post really isn't on topic about Castro's health. But it does lend some insight into one of the struggles the country faces if it becomes a democracy and tries to start it's way to a capitalistic society. |
Let's hope he's dead.
5,4,3,2,1 until the idiots come in here and tell us about how the healthcare system in cuba is excellent, all Cubans are really happy and how no-one ever got tortured. :1orglaugh |
If anything he is in dire straights. Its unheard of for him to turn over power even to Raul.
Yesterday Cuba started to draft all males over 18 into the Army and put out a press release they're preparing for a US invasion, which is completely absurd and paranoid to the max. Worst thing that could happen would be finding out Castro is dead and then the military tosses out Raul and a power struggle ensues. If that occurs you'll see an ocean full mass exodus of hundreds of thousands of Cubans in boats heading to Miami. |

First off, the halth care system is one of the best in the world. Second, very few of the Cubans are really happy, and yes thousands of them have been tortured. The Cubans that stand at the events, are there because they give out free food, and beer, and sometimes t-shirts. Other than that, they are not intereted in listening to someone rant for 3 ours when it is 90 degrees, and muggy. How do I know. I grew up in Cuba, and left when I was 23. My father, a US citizen then claimed me, and I flew to Miami. |
The funny thing about Cuba getting ready for an invasion, is the soldiers would all throw down thier guns, and put their hands up the minute they saw marines. A few would fight, because they believe in Castro. But not many

May Castro?s successor be as just and wise as he himself was. He will be missed by millions of people worldwide and mourned as a hero by the majority of true Cubans everywhere. He stood up to a monster and won; the monster responded and tried to kill his people with sanctions. Yet through his courage and wisdom, and with his people?s sheer determination, Cuba survived. No? Cuba didn?t just survive, Cuba THRIVED. You will be missed Castro. You will be missed. Viva la Castro! Viva la Cuba!
