A Tropical Storm (Chris) Warning for Florida!
Tropical storm watch for Florida.
Tropical Storm Chris may hit Florida late Sunday. Are there any people living in Florida who can give more accurate details than what we can read at this site? AS TAKEN FROM THE LINK BELOW "A Tropical Storm Warning Remains In Effect For Puerto Rico And The U.S. And British Virgin Islands" http://bbsnews.net/article.php/20060802021646311 |

OH Shit and why live in a state that gets destroyed every year? :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh |
I see hurrican warnings on tv, from they who love to monger fear...
But when you read the alerts, print or web, and go to the stormwatch and other types of sites, they're considerably less panicked about it. It'll hit cuba and either spin into a Category one in the Gulf. According to the U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami, "it could become a hurricane later on Wednesday as it traveled on a path that could take it into the Gulf of Mexico, where it could damage U.S. oil and gas facilities." We might get some rain... |
Fucking kill joy:( If The plane takes off I'm on it:pimp

Tropical Storm Chris threatens Florida Keys
By KEN KAYE South Florida Sun-Sentinel 8/2/2006 FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - It must be August, because South Florida is in the cone of uncertainty. Bulking up quickly, Tropical Storm Chris emerged in the western Atlantic on Tuesday, threatening to intensify into a minimal hurricane and take aim for the Florida Straits by Sunday. For now, Cuba and the Florida Keys appear to be under the gun, as the forecast track takes the system just north of Havana. Several models point the storm across Cuba or south of it. However, even on its projected path, it could graze South Florida and bring stormy conditions. There also is the possibility it could veer in the direction of South Florida. If so, the region could start feeling it on Saturday, forecasters said. "We have shifted the track farther to the south, but we can't rule out South Florida this early in the game," said meteorologist Jennifer Pralgo of the National Hurricane Center. "So people really need to monitor this thing." See full story here >>> http://www.buffalonews.com/editorial...02/1036932.asp But hey I'm still going :thumbsup |

I've lived here all my life and I can count the number of hurricanes that have caused my power to go out on 1 hand ok maybe a finger or two of the other hand. But for the amount of time I've lived here I haven't had to deal with very many bad ones. Now it just so happens 3 were in the last two years the last one before that that was bad enough to turn off my power was Hurricane David in 1979. So we don't get destroyed every year however they do seem to be more active now. |
oh BTW just for the fear mongers here are some hurricane pics.. I think this thread needs a few.. :winkwink:

HERES A FUCKING HINT, people in florida no longer care about hurricanes... Dont ask us, honestly people in Michigan know more about the Florida storms then accual floridians do.
We know their coming we have gotten so used to them. |
Its just going to be a nice rainstorm to sleep thru and recover from Internext... :pimp

This image is going to update day by day. This is the page its from. http://wxforecasts.com/ameriwx/ameri...n=NT&hwvmetric The Hurricane won't be a hurricane for a while yet, its still a tropical storm. And its looking like its going to veer into the Gulf and just give us a little rain... Keep track of it via the image (if they allow the hotlink long enough) or just check that page. So far it's looking like a pretty fairweather tradeshow to me - even the yacht cruise on Saturday isn't threatened by this projection ... (knockin' wood, chanting Damballah)... |

the current track has it owning cuba and then curving into the gulf which is typical for this time of year. lots of storms start out in that vicinity and end up bashing the keys and going into the gulf side of florida like a nasty curveball. http://www.nrlmry.navy.mil/atcf_web/...6.06080212.gif right through hurricane alley. |
Uh ohhhh
