Non-Smokers: Inside please...

Am I alone here...

I am so turned off by smoking that I can not eat around anyone smoking. I don't even like to breath next to someone smoking. Dirty ashtrays make me want to puke and I can't eat around them either. When I watch someone smoke then throw their butt on the ground I want to murder them.

There is nothing worse than an inconsiderate smoker. I wish cancer upon them.

aico 07-10-2006 03:27 PM

Aren't you in Thailand or someshit like that? If so, damn... you are in non-smokers hell.

BoyAlley 07-10-2006 03:27 PM

I've never smoked in my life, and I agree, it's absolutely NASTY!

gooddomains 07-10-2006 03:28 PM

it's disgusting

Mr. Romance 07-10-2006 03:28 PM

they just banned smoking in the resturantes and bars here in Uruguay and i love it..

I don't smoke, but you're a real douchebag. Grow up pansy. Honestly, if someone's smoke is bothering you, fucking move. The exaust from people's SUVs bothers me when I'm walking down the street, but I don't cry about it. Live and let live, dildo.

I thought it was gay when Bloomberg banned smoking here. Just another way the government controls our personal behavior.

Totally. All my favorite places on earth are non-smokers hell.

For starters ALL of Asia smokes. Then you have Cuba... fuck. Then Colombia... double fuck. It never ends. I hate it. And to think 2nd hand smoke is hurting me makes me so mad at them I honestly want to stab them in the neck.

GlydeGirl 07-10-2006 03:32 PM

As a non-smoker married to a smoker, I feel your pain. Luckily for me, I live in Vancouver where it's a non-smoking paradise (in public places), and my hubby happily smokes his cigarettes outside the house. Even my husband can't stand the odour of cigarette smoke in a room and feels uncomfortable smoking indoors. He also refuses to throw his used butts to the ground and will instead put them out, then keep them in his package until he can find a garbage can to dump them in. He also is completely responsible for dumping his ashtrays and never asks me to buy him cigarettes at the store.

I think I'll keep him! LOL

WWC-Pajio 07-10-2006 03:34 PM

.... I tried it!! never liked it.. :smokin

WEGCash Robert 07-10-2006 03:34 PM

I just quit and I feel so much better. I can actually jog now and not pass out.

aico 07-10-2006 03:37 PM

Here's what I don't get about smoking and smokers. It's been pretty much established that smoking is probably one of the worst things you can do to yourself and those around you. So, is having that smoke really more important to you than your own health and the health of your friends and family? If so, that is truly the saddest thing I have ever heard. It's almost borderline psychotic, close to thoughts of suicide, to knowingly harm yourself and others. I just don't get it.

1) Move where fuck tard? To the non existent non-smoking section?

2) SUVs do not have fumes that would bother you. That is why the states have an emissions test. Modern automobiles do not spit out fumes that would cause a brainiac such as yourself to notice them.

You're a dip shit.

VicD 07-10-2006 03:39 PM

I stopped almost 3 years ago, best decision ever but hey if people wanna smoke, go ahead

Actually, it's our Gov't protecting those who don't smoke from having to breath the toxic fumes of those who do. It is my right to be able to go where I want and not have to worry about inhaling poison, and this is my Gov't protecting my right to do just that.

J. Falcon 07-10-2006 03:43 PM

I hate it. It's very disrespectful to everyone around you.

If he must smoke, at least he is considerate. That is good.

I have tried to date smokers in the past... I can't do it. It lingers on their breath and clothes and just turns me off.

mrthumbs 07-10-2006 03:50 PM

i quit smoking 7 weeks ago.. (did MANY attempts before that period that didnt last more than a few days). I did about 2 packs a day and im at the border of starting to see how disgusting of habit it is.. at least hours go by now without me thinking of cigarettes..and yes: people smoking in yuor environment smells nasty.

I must say tho: i did enjoy smoking.. and if a healthy cigarette was ever invented id be back smoking.

Congrats, and keep it up. Have you started to notice how much better food tastes and things smell again?

i dont care i smoke and throw butts everywhere wherever i want even when the evil governments gonna make smoking a crime.. what never will happen since they say its bad for your health, but get about 90% of the price in their pockets and let it sell at every shop across country from bars to gasstatios to supermarkets. Hypocrite fucks.

As far as the health arguement goes, they could say the same things about booze, fast food, sugar, caffeine, diet pills, etc. The problem with legislating against these behaviours is that it tends to push societry towards the direction that the super-conservative bible thumpers would like us to go.

According to the bible-thumper set: sex outside of marriage is bad for you, so is safer sex with multiple partners (even if your husband/wife is part of it), so is masturbating, and so on and so on. Do we really want to live in a world that is, while smoke-free, a highly pleasure-based-behaviour regulated place? If so, then throw democracy right out the window and bring us in some extremist Muslims to show us all the way!

Move to someplace where you're not getting smoke in your face. Amazing some of us are able to live with smokers without crying and wanting to kill them.

If you don't think traffic causes exaust fumes that you can notice, move out of your farm town to NY City, "brainiac". I'm not talking about a truck zooming past your shitty town on a highway.

Exactly. Live and let live. Some people have to start focusing on themselves and stop worrying and crying about what other people are doing.

YOU said SUVs.

I live in Thailand. My shitty farm town is far from the highway, but I do have an ocean view from the living room of my shitty farm house. Unfortunately though, this shitty town does not have any smoking laws.

You grow more ignorant by each post. Please continue... a few more posts and you should be up there with AMP.

Nowhere in the thread title did I mention car exhaust (so you obviously can not read). This is not a thread about car exhaust, because I do not have a muffler on all sides of me all fucking day while I'm trying to eat. There is a difference. This is a thread about NON-SMOKERS and if it bothers them as much as it does me.

To add, I don't worry about what other people are doing so long as it is not killing me. If you are smoking close to me in a closed area, you are killing me and everyone else around them. That is an "inconsiderate smoker" and exactly the asshole I wish caner upon.

If you can't handle being around other people doing things you don't like, stay at home and cry about it. Or go suck Rob Reiner's dick. There are a lot of things in this world that will kill you long before second hand smoke. Air and water polution for example.

I'm an ex-smoker of a year and a half, and I never realized how nasty & stinky it really was until I quit, and then had to be around smokers..

I'm with ya D...:thumbsup

fuzebox 07-10-2006 04:44 PM

Drives me nuts too, it was hard moving away from Vancouver which has banned indoor smoking for years, to a place where it is perfectly acceptable to throw your butts on the floor indoors (even in restaurants, hotels, etc) and absolutely everyone smokes all the time.

I tolerate it, but it is fucking gross, especially since I'm seeing a girl who smokes :(

Spunky 07-10-2006 04:44 PM

I tried to quit but failed ..I'm weak I admit it :(

I quit about 3 years ago. The only thing that really bugs me about people that smoke are the ones that toss their lit butts out the car window when we have not had rain for months and the fire risk is extremely high. I don't know how many times I have seen scrub brush at the side of the road on fire. If you are going to smoke, be responsible and use an ashtray.

goldrush 07-10-2006 04:53 PM

smokers should be shot on sight.

Tremor2 07-10-2006 05:00 PM

I'll be glad when they get rid of smoking in the bars here, I can't stand waking up after a night of drinking and feeling like I smoked a pack. Hangovers are bad enough without the damaged lung feeling.

Seriously, all of you claiming that there are worse things and that NON-SMOKERS should move, or that we are cry babies... you are just as fucking dumb as the smokers are.

There is no logical argument for this. It causes trash, it stinks, it kills and none of it is necessary. There is nothing positive about smoking. There is a reason people are trying to ban it or have banned it. There is a reason cigarette companies label the boxes now with the reality of smoking.

Lets get this straight... I'm not anti-smoking. If you smoke, smoke in your car, in your home or someplace where it only kills you. That is your right, but do not impose this on me. That is rude and inconsiderate. I could be equally as rude and fart in your face, burp and blow it in your face or shit on your plate, then call you a cry baby when you did not like it... but that would be uncalled for and I would never do that, nor would any other non-smoker, even though we want to.

One more rant before bed time:

The best of all... parents who smoke in the car, windows up, with their children inside. I can't WAIT for that to become child endangerment. It is already in the works in a few states and I can't fucking wait!!!! Shitty parents.

I stopped reading after this sentence, because you are obviously clueless on the subject of cigarette smoke and its dangers.

Add this to your little "health argument" theories:

When someone drinks booze in the same room as me, it doesn't effect my health.
When someone eats fast food in the same room as me, it doesn't effect my health.
When someone eats sugar in the same room as me, it doesn't effect my health.
When someone has caffeine in the same room as me, it doesn't effect my health.
When someone takes diet pills in the same room as me, it doesn't effect my health.

When someone smokes in the same room as me, it effects my health, and everyone else's health in the room.

The same reason all CARS/SUVS/VANS or whatever the fuck you want to call your vehicle, should have the same warnings from the WINDOW DOWN, so people can be warned to walk the other way when your exhaust fuming death machine comes plowing down the road motherfucker.

stfu, FYI, sitting by a campfire can cause you fatal lung disease, sitting in your fancy assed favorite restaraunt with an open kitchen, can cause you fatal lung disease. ANYTHING that combusts releases carbon monoxide, causing fatal lung disease and other health depleting shit.

Why not ban all fat people from being in public, because it makes your eyes sore.

Fuck, why not even ban Camping.. the whole purpose is to get fresh air outdoors, but you stupid idiots decide to eat marshmallows (of all things) beside a cancer causing campfire. FUCKING CAMPFIRES!

so fuck off to your hippy town, go SMOKE a CACK or two, and STFU.

Please show me where you see any study that says sitting by a campfire can cause you fatal lung disease, or is this just your ignorant opinion because camp fires have smoke, therefore they most cause fatal lung disease, just like cigarettes, cuz hell cigarettes create smoke, so they must be the same as a campfire. Smoke is smoke right? Wrong, cigarettes release carbon monoxide along with 200 other known poisons.

Never have smoked and I cant date smokers, itf the smell isnt bad enough, to taste it on their mouth is worse, its filthy. I am thankful for the gov't making an effort to protect me from second hand smoke.

That maybe the only thing I have ever thought that could be bad about a strip club

rowan 07-10-2006 08:53 PM

lol, this topic is almost as polarising as circumcision...

As for myself, I am a non smoker and don't like to smell smoke, but I'm rarely in that situation (smoking is banned in restaurants, casinos and some other public places in Melbourne AU).

Personally I think the smell AFTER the cigarette is finished is far worse... fingers, clothes, breath. That's why I could never have a partner who smoked, even if they were "considerate."

RogerV10 07-10-2006 08:58 PM

To each is own, but i am sickened by smoking in any public area.s
