Last time when I deleted my characters a few weeks ago, desperately trying to quit the game, I ended up having them recovered by a GM. It didn't take a week and I was back in it. Fuckin' Warcrack. This time around, no GM will recover my shit, just because they don't do it twice.

Today, as I walked through town, tired as shit from raiding in the past few days, I had a revelation... yet again. I don't want it fuckin' with my health, my biz, my relationships anymore. Fuck WoW. Enough time devoted to it. And yes, I am too weak to just have it around and play occationally. Occasional WoW just ain't happening.

I disenchanted all my epics (~30 Nexus Crystals), sent it all to a friend (who will certainly have better use for it than me) and then proceeded to delete my characters.

Bye bye World Of Warcraft, I am done with you.

I call bullshit. You'll soon be back in it. You need an anti-WOW friend to physically watch your actions for at least a month after you 'quit' before you can say you actually quit.

I've never played WOW but I've spent countless hours watching the game over the shoulder of a friend who has at least three Level 60 characters. He can't get away from that shit either but watching the game didn't make it any more special than any other game.

A few months ago, I took all my armor and items and destroyed them. Gave all my money away to guild and deleted the program from my hard drive. This way even if I do go back on my chars are all shit. I also deleted DDO, and AutoAsault, 2 more games designed only to suck away our lives.

Stick to console gaming, its far less time consuming. BB2 for 360 is good and I can't ever play more than an hour or two at a time without getting bored.

I feel ya. I deleted a 60 rogue with full nightslayer and a couple of pieces of bloodfang (with corehound tooth, perdition's blade, brutality blade, dal'rend set, krol blade) and a nice feral druid with mostly pvp gear. Best move I ever made.

You can download the client off the usenet I bet. But you have to buy an actual retail game to get an unlock code. With that code you can go ahead and establish an account at worldofwarcraft.com - no code, no account, no wow.

im also a recovering WoW addict. i never let it fuck with business too bad, although i do put a lot more time in now than when i still played.

its a fun game, but can easily take life over. i may be running a private server off a dedicated box at some point. that means i can play for free, and be a GM :D

i haven't played any wow free shard servers yet. i've played a few other free shards like uo and daoc, and they weren't that bad.

GTA was bad for me when Vice City came out, I almost friggin dropped of sleep deprivation.

I bought San Andreas a few months back and surprisingly, I only play it a few hours a week MAX. It's about self control and realizing, it's just a fucking game that will still be there next week.
