Some fuckers attacked my server [drama details inside]
 

Some fucking bastards attacked my server with DOS attack from multiple IPs...their hitbots were really fast and caused that load of my server increased to 18 :)) Ssh was inacessible so the only one choice was switch attacked domain to 255.255.255.255...I was appriciated that my dns servers are on other machines so it worked promptly. Then I wait few minutes and restarted it remotely. Server status seemed to by in normal so after few minutes I switched attacked domain back...Hitbots were away...

What are Your tips how to fight against attacks like these?

That really sucks.

Don't real know where you should go for help with a situation like this.

If in the U.S., normally you could call the feds... Although, I'm not sure if that's the best thing to do now-a-days in this biz.

Better solve it alone :)) I'm doing some optmimiztions on Apache and installing second web server only for static objects.

1st, get a host that knows how to deal with these attacks.
2nd, Don't talk about it on public boards that the attacker is probabally reading.
