Does anyone elses CCBill ratios suck this bad?

Ok, I contacted CCBill about my ratios, and got back the standard "it's not our fault" reply...but man, this just ain't right. In February I didn't hardly promote any CCBill programs, and my ratio was 1:453, then in March I promoted the hell out of CCBill programs, and my ratio dropped to 1:6191. And no, that's not a typo...the ratio dropped to 1:6191. That's not, "oh, I had a bad month" ratios...that's, "fuck this shit, it's time to quit dealing with CCBill" ratios. My sales literally died after they did their "upgrade and improvements" or whatever the hell they did, and somehow it's a little hard to believe since my traffic was way up in March. So, has anyone elses sales dropped that much with CCBill programs?

They havent been steadily down - but very unstable...for me.

Nicky 04-06-2006 09:06 AM

around 1:300 last month

My ratios up until the end of February were reasonably consistent, roughly 1:1100, but March and April (so far) have slipped to about 1:1800.

mine have been on point tbh

March was a record breaking mth, although this payperiod does not look good at all.

2 days ago 1:50, yesterday 1:75
no problems here.

Really varies for me. It seems like they all of a sudden scrub real hard for a week and then it goes back to normal.

redfrog 04-06-2006 12:17 PM

till februar : 1:200 now : 1:1900

Violetta 04-06-2006 02:18 PM

FilthyRob 04-06-2006 02:58 PM

I pretty much stopped checking except like once a month to see what I sold.

What I'd like is for someone to explain the technicality of how CC Bill would be scrubbing.:2 cents:

Hinc 04-06-2006 03:08 PM

if it was actually ccbill scrubbing - wouldnt the inbox be loaded with denial emails?

bawdy 04-06-2006 03:11 PM

Same traffic sources in March as in February?

After Shock Media 04-06-2006 03:13 PM

To really have a bearing on this one must fucking throw ratio's out the damn window, they mean jack shit. CCbill has a tendancy to count all clicks and the way some have set up their galleries and hosted galleries (if you use them) they start counting the person the second they hit the gallery with out even going to the site. Non CCbill sites are more apt to count just site hits, second page, or even join page hits. So what you see in "ratio's" may not be reality anyways.

Seems to me that we have this conversation every year around the same time. Personally, I think it may have something to do with tax season. After the 15th of this things will go back to normal until summer slow down hits, then back to good in August.

I got to think that people have started to pick up on this by now.

not a technical explanation, but a guess.

i suspect a big processor like ccbill has composite "threshholds". think of an electrical rheostat as an analogy.

during any given month due to a variety of circumstances the processor needs to tweak it's composite chargeback threshhold to stay within merchant account guidelines.

so almost daily someone is turning up and down the "scrub-a-matic" rheostat to keep this threshhold just under the allowable limit.

to me this is the only reasonable explanation for the WIDE variability of conversion ratios from day to day.

as an example from 1998-2003 ccbill was VERY stable---but since visa started getting tougher, conversion ratios are all over the place.

Well, I didn't get into adult until August/September of last year, so this is actually the first time I've experienced this. I kind of thought that tax season might have something to do with it because my sales are down across the board...just nothing as drastic as the CCBill stats. Glad to hear it's gonna get better, because right now, this sucks. Thanks for the info!

i'm 1:650 with ccbill for the past 6 months

V_RocKs 04-07-2006 12:38 AM

Mine have sucked on their program, but if it is NATS or otherwise I am doing fine... Lightspeed, Panchodog... etc...

I think their affiliate program software sucks ass
