Marilyn Manson's paintings (pics)

Maybe not for everyone but i really love his art.

I wonder how much he sells them for. I'd love to have an original piece.

Not a big fan of his music but his paitings are sexy.

Teodora 02-23-2006 07:38 AM

horrible!

think he needs a therapy :disgust

Kristian 02-23-2006 07:43 AM

Excellent work. Hate to think how much they cost, but would like some in my study. One element I like is his unconventional decision to use watercolors to set a gothic tone. The washed-out colors make me think of rotting corpses. I especially like the shemale and man with two knobs.

fallenmuffin 02-23-2006 07:53 AM

I don't care for Marliyn Manson... Nothing really I can place my finger on I just don't care for him. If you can make your money and get a little fame on the side then by all means.

With that said.. The paintings are pretty good. Some are fairly amateurish while others show true talent. Now being a movie star doesn't make you a singer and being a singer doesn't make you a movie star. Everyones an artist in their own right. So I'll give him that.

LadyMischief 02-23-2006 07:57 AM

Manson is a fairly rounded-out guy as far as talent... He's an awesome photographer too.. he shoots a lot of his now-wife Dita Von Tesse's photos.

ffmihai 02-23-2006 07:57 AM

those are shitty paintings

Downtime 02-23-2006 07:58 AM

those are surprisingly pretty decent

Sosa 02-23-2006 07:59 AM

pretty fucking weird

sumphatpimp 02-23-2006 08:02 AM

looks like the stuff they do at the school for retards.
in fact, I think he stole some of their work.

some people can't see through his media "image"

Sarah_Jayne 02-23-2006 08:56 AM

It is odd to me that they are using some of his music (albeit a cover he did) in a car comerical here at the moment. Just feels strange.

Sarah_Jayne 02-23-2006 09:00 AM

He will be like Alice Cooper soon enough where people see him as non-threatening and people that blamed him for all the downfalls of society will suddenly claim to have seen him on concert 23 times when they were kids.

FuqALot 02-23-2006 09:02 AM

some people enjoy everything

Tom_PM 02-23-2006 09:03 AM

Every one of em is a red x? He needs to expand :)

Stallion 02-23-2006 09:03 AM

love the red x's

DutchTeenCash 02-23-2006 09:21 AM

his first and only 20 sold for 30k each, theyre taken offline since everyone copied them and sold them for a few 100.

TheGoldenChild 02-23-2006 09:52 AM

I own an original Manson piece signed by him-
Juicy has seen it-

I own the Dylan and Klebold Peace Symbol Print-

here it is...

Gnat69 02-23-2006 09:59 AM

I personally love his art, but considering Tony Benett also paints I would be more inclined to purchase from Tony than MM. I don't think he has been around long enough to sell his for $20,000 and more...

mrthumbs 02-23-2006 10:00 AM

anyone that spends over $50 for a piece of art or painting is an idiot

That's why mine was a gift from Manson himself.

While no art critic, it looks like he has talent but it would be nice to see a little diversity there - most don't like he's stretching himself creatively much.

exactly.. i wouldn't ever listen to his music its just not my style. i don't even care for his clothing and makeup. but i have heard him speak and seen the things he has done. hes not a bad guy and i actually believe hes a lot more intelligent then people give him credit for, just because of his image.

chazer 02-23-2006 10:25 AM

his whole style is 1 dimensional.

TheDoc 02-23-2006 10:51 AM

A bit odd, but not bad, what would one expect from Manson?

I saw him in concert about 8 years ago, it was the best entertainment concert I have ever seen. He goes all out at his shows.

tony286 02-23-2006 10:55 AM

very interesting stuff

Spunky 02-23-2006 10:59 AM

Weird and mysterious just like him

Nismo 02-23-2006 11:05 AM

Am I the only one that likes them? I think they're pretty decent, actually.

Huggles 02-23-2006 11:20 AM

In a world of manufactured talent, Marilyn Manson is one of the few last remaining music "artists"

His music is great, the music videos even more twisted!

xNetworx 02-23-2006 11:28 AM

That's the most stupid remark on gfy this year. Congratulations! :thumbsup

jcsike 02-23-2006 12:00 PM

you must be one depressed sob to like these paintings.

This is my ?depressed stance.? When you?re depressed, it makes a lot of difference how you stand. The worst thing you can do is straighten up and hold your head high because then you?ll start to feel better. If you?re going to get any joy out of being depressed, you?ve got to stand like this.?Charlie Brown

Kelly Clarkson gets my vote over MM any day.

Wiggles 02-23-2006 12:09 PM

i read that he sells them like mad, all those lame ass female groupies.

Why would you have to be depressed to like those paintings?

Art can stir emotions, but I highly doubt emotional people seek out are to fuel their emotional states. Do happy people line their walls with pictures of sailboats, rainbows, and kittens?

Agreed! I've seen him on some talk shows and he's more intelligent than people think. And I?ve heard he is a great performer in concert! Don't judge a book by its cover, he's making bank doing what he does "entertainer"! And the arts not bad either. Just depends on the mind that?s viewing it! :thumbsup

It depends on whether or not sailboats, rainbows, and kittens make them happy or not.
