I remember the good old days. The first time I ever surfed the internet was with Windows 3.1. I remember, Netscape was the browser of choice and every web-site had a #c0c0c0 background.

Heh.. And LegendaryLars use to run a site called Pleasure Palace back in the early 90s. I use to chat in one of his chatrooms. It was called 'cyber chat' LOL

I'm ashamed to admit I used win3.1 so long that by the time I upgraded win98 was already out.

Fuck yeah - remember when Win 3.11 came out and blew that shit away?

I couldnt upgrade to Win95 for months cuz my computer couldnt handle it.... lol

Fuck yeah, I had an IBM 386 with a free wireless connection to my neighbor across the street that ran an ISP.

Yup, I remember buying an extra 1meg of memory for $450 so 3.1 would have a whole 2 megs to work with.

I don't think there was wireless back then.

I remember I had a 2400 baud dialup modem. when 14.4k modems came out -- those were considered 'high-speed' and if you were able to download 1.4K/sec you were big pimpin

Trust me there was wireless, it was a giant box almost the size of my IBM and slow as a 28.8 but it was wireless

I remember 3.0 . . . . still have the 5 1/4" floppy install disks

i have an old copy of 3d studio max.. it's like 20 floppy disks lol

wow, my first computer with a "network" was an Apple II+ with a modem that required you to place the handset on the modem....old school!

My first computer had ms dos , that computer was faster and didnt crash. Programs werent as sloppy then.

I had a dell 286 with windows 3.11 on it. Damn thing didn't even come with a cd rom I had to add that myself.

Surfed on AOL the version that looked like a 1989 banner farm..

I had an Ibm PC Xt, and a Tandy 1000 that I played the shit out of Kings Quest on.

I think it had like 1mb of ram, no hd just 2 360k floppy drives. Later I got a 1.2mb floppy and a 1.44 that kicked ass but no games came on 1.44's.

I remember having to install it using some four thousand floppy disks!

I remember using MS DOS 2.0, before that VMS on a DEC Mini

I bought it brand new, it was the latest technology . . . . cost $3,300

I started out with an Apple I then an Apple IIe with dual floppy drives. There was no hdd, and whatever memory there was minimal, less than a digital watch as I recall.

Hell yeah, and I remember when Windows 95 had this crazy feature called Dial Up Networking w/ PPP support. I thought it was a gift from GOD! I remember thinking "how could such an amazing thing possibly exist? Could this be true? No custom ISP script for connecting?" And man, that's where I really got psyched about the networking support Microsoft was doing.

I remember taking basic & fortran in HS in '82 (early hs, I'm a class of 86 generational)...at N. Hollywood High on an Apple IIe...that was THE BOMB biscuit back then...

I loved 3.11, got some plugins for it that made it better than 95 ever was (I still have some of the games active on my desktop)

I only upgraded to 95 because I had to so I could FTP or some other such nonsense.

I also ran the pimp BBS on Renegade bbs software. That was PPPIIIMMPPP

shit, I was the guy on the job (previous life as a military tech geek) that could restore the 'program manager' vibe to your 95 feel...I was way in demand by some of the top brass to put their new 95 shit back to the old 3.11 vibe...
