I can't remember using win 3.1 much.. I do remember upgrading my msDos to 5.0 and fucking with autoexec.bat and config.sys to get dune2 to work. haha :P

i do remember! that was the first PC i've ever got. cr-rom speed was only 16x and that was the fastest in the neighborhood... no microsoft office yet.

I had a XT that ran only DOS with WordPerfect - none of this WYSIWYG wordproccesor crap - you had to try and imagine what it would look like.
Then I upgraded and got windows 3.11 and started a BBS using 'Cheetah' software I think - I managed to hook it up to email and was about the first person in town with an email address. It was about 3 months before anyone emailed me - I nearly wet myself when I got it. It was test123 message from America, I couldnt believe it had come all the way over the ocean lol |

I still have an old computer running 3.1 on top of Netware. 386dx with 4 megs of ram and a 30 meg rll hard drive.

I remember using 3.11 for workgroups and running this HP desktop manager a university computer tech guy gave me. The multi-virtual desktops were sweet.
