so what i was wondering is if i deleting some stuff i don't care for them to see, can they still see it? is there logs and shit of all that? i can't believe that its allowed, total invasion of privacy for a civil matter.
|

Your going to hell Billy.
Yeah after a subpoena you don't want to be destroying anything. |
they just want to look at your al-qaeda emails... not the goat sex porn spam you subscribe to.
|
i'm no criminal. i signed up to an affiliate program that is apparently getting sued. for some reason they want to see my email account. i don't have anything im really worried about it, i just don't want them to have all my passwords and private correspondance with my girlfriend.
|

Let them look at it - private emails with your girlfriend are irrelevant, and to be quite honest, who would fucking care? Let them look at the emails from the program... or is there something you are not sharing?
|
Hellbilly, this affects other affiliates from that sponsor, who exactly is it?
|
Name the sponsor, now. This is nothing that needs to be kept private.

See below QUOTE=Hellbilly]so im sitting here looking at my websites which have been for the most part ignored for the past 2 years. they still make some money, some hits but not enough to make a living off of. i used to mail but i stopped, too much bullshit and its just too risky anymore. not to mention the proft to cost ratio sucks these days. so im getting back to my roots, back where i started 7 years ago with adult sites. the ways of getting traffic have really changed. It would be naive to imagine that - if only to protect themselves - all the freemail people don't keep backups. And if you really want to make yourself look guilty of something, one of the best ways in these circumstances is to start deleting your mails.
If you have been spamming, as some are suggesting here, I hope you get buried. But if your hands are clean you will not suffer more than a minor inconvenience, so why do anything which will make yourself look as if you have something to hide? |
Something doesn't add up in this thread...:pimp

It doesn't add up because Hellbilly forgot to mention that at least one of the recipients of his spam thinks that the spam was generated from the affiliate program (becuase the promotion of the affiliate's site is what was contained in his spam). So the recipient(s) are suing the Web Site. Now, the Web Site is claiming that the Affiliate (hellbilly) is the guilty party (not them). So, now they need to sort out who was breaking all of the civil and criminal laws, so they can fuck them up in court. The plaintiffs are hoping to pin it on the Web Site because they will most likely have more money than hellbilly. CAN-SPAM's Criminal Penalties The FTC has trained more than 1,700 law enforcement agents in the U.S. and Canada to enforce the CAN-SPAM Act. The CAN-SPAM Act details severe penalties for anyone convicted of breaking its laws. Depending on the nature of the offense, the number of times it occurred, and the damages done to consumers, the penalties can include: Imprisonment up to 5 years. Fines up to $3 million; fines may be higher if they are tied to actual damages incurred by recipients of fraudulent e-mail. Confiscation and forfeiture of any property (including computer hardware and software) that was used to commit the crime, and any property (including personal property) that can be traced to proceeds from the crime. There are also International Spam Laws that might have been violated by Hellbilly. Finally, and most importantly, Lord Nelson is a troll. |
If you delete e-mail after you receive a subpoena that requires you to provide them to the court you will be far worse off. Remember Yahoo E-mail is also stored with Yahoo and also the recipients have copies. With a proper subpoena, Yahoo will provide all e-mail to requesting party. I'm also sure that anybody else who received your e-mail would also provide copies.
They will also discover that you deleted e-mail after you received the subpoena. This will destroy your credibility and whatever defense you might have had. The judge will find you in contempt and punish you accordingly. Then he will find in favor of whoever opposes you in his court and then punish you even more. Then criminal charges will be filed against you and you will go through another legal trial and finally, you will be punished for your criminal behavior. I bet you will be fined severely and spend a bunch of time in jail when it is all said and done. Lord Nelson is a troll - and wears a wig that smells like piss. |

i use yahoo mail. whats wrong with it? i love it duke |
anything can be found if you look closely enough, just dont break the law and you dont have to worry about anything
|
or emails from trannies
|
Its obviously safe to assume they have to have backup copies of everything for situations just like this.
Deleting e-mails under subpoena is not only illegal, but would mean you are in clear cut contempt of court for which the judge will normally issue a warrant for your arrest. |
