STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS: Did anyone watch/listen? Does anyone care?
 

I missed it...

all I heard was something about interest rates going up and that most of it was propoganda...

Well....all I kept thinking, throughout the speech...was only a thousand more days....sigh.

listen to Bush... Anyone still does that???

He sure paints a pretty happy positive picture of how booming and wonderful the US economy is, but all I kept thinking was that it's too bad about your dollar value on the world market sucking so bad. At one point during the last year of Clinton your dollar was worth $1.50 to $1.60 Cdn. Now it's almost on PAR with our dollar, it's worth like $1.12 righ now.

Mr Bush's words are nice, but to me they're just words.

I did. Hilary Clinton was pretty much laughing at him the whole time, so they stopped showing her halfway through. It was such a pack of lies.

ie: the US economy created more jobs in the last year than the UK and Japan combined. He's cutting 140 "underperforming" programs from the budget. He is working to cut the deficit in half by 2009 or some such. The economy is healthier and happier than its ever been. Democracies never harbour terrorists.

And apparently he's putting a priority on ideas and education, and making sure kids get special help with math to ensure a solid think tank for America's future.

Oh, and he's setting aside "huge" monies for research into alternative fuels like solar, hydrogen, and wind power. Riiiiiight....

maybe he should also tell us how he is fixing the educational system which sucks more than anything!

Should be labeled "State of the Middle East" instead of "State of the Union" address.

Same old propoganda about why we need to the world's protector of freedom, liberty and the pursuit of happiness by defeating the world's tyrannical leaders.

I think they need some mirrors in Washington.

Like what I said in the previous thread, it's a lying, no-good presidency. Same old rhetorics... Does not reflect the general sentiment of the Union.
