Trials or No Trials? Resellers and Sposors opinions wanted!

programs these days need trials. unless you're offering extremely good solo girl sites, or other very very very micro niche specific type sites.

as an affiliate I try not to push sponsors that have trials and only pay $2-3 on that trial. I have seen most of thsoe not convert into a rebill so I make a whole $2-3... I prefer the 50/60 or 60/60 revshare even if it is trial or a full month sale.

So you like the trials only if it's 50% of the full membership, or PPS perhaps?

We do trials and convert the traffic consistently between 28% and 35% of the time overall - our processor DHD tells us we have the best conversions of all the sites using their gateway. That is fact - not typical sponsor hype.

Surfers can't steal our movie content - our proprietary video security has even earned respect on hacker boards... but I am not sure that is the reason for our conversions or retention. I chalk it up more so to our multiple daily updates and customer service.

Are your multiple daily updates all exclusive shit? Or are you mixing exclusive and non-exclusive throughout the week?

So not true. We do not, have not and will not offer trials. With the amount of content we offer we are not worried about site rippers believe me. Its plain and simple psychology.

My highest converting sites has no trials @ a $29.95 a month pricepoint. It crushes the trial having sites from most sponsors. CRUSHES THEM.

Trials = good conversions and average recurring
Full memberships only = bad conversions but great recurring

Actually it is good but by no means huge. We really don't have many webmasters now but we were also the number one converting and retaining site in our CE days when there were 15000 plus webmasters throwing traffic at us.

We do well off our brand recognition for type-in traffic generated by Spice Channel which promotes our brand, our dvd advertising, etc. However, If I told you what our self generated type-in converted at people would think I was full of hype which we all know is spelled "CRAP" backwards.

We DO NOT offer trials and our top converting sites convert all day long at 1:500 on full monly signups.

IMHO.. if the Full Monthly transactions convert at better than 1:700 from ALL traffic.. ( the good, the bad and the ugly ) then there isnt any need for a trial!!

What beemk said... we offer trials, monthly, and 3 month subs. Of course, trials reel in the most subs, 3 months bring in the most $ per transaction, but monthly subs make the most $ per sub + rebills.
