been doing a lot of cardio (35 mins a day on the elipse machine plus several mile walks) last couple of weeks and just started up weights again. damn it felt good.

need to make this a habbit like it was 10 years ago.

Same here. I've literally turned my life around a few weeks ago, now I can't get enough from spinning, lifting, swimming and running.... if I don't get my daily fix, I'm feel like a crack junkie gone dry!

It really is addictive, must be the dopamine/adrenalin or whatever but yeah miss a day and it is like a bad hangover or cold turkey like you said. :thumbsup

Yup I use them but don't like the elliptical though. I use the regular treadmill on max incline, speed 4.0 for an hour and burn over 1000 calories if my ankles/knees don't give in. At the end of the hour I am defintely buzzing and feel like I could do a triathalon. Maybe one day. :)

Then the next day I do swimming to give the joints time to recover. :Oh crap

make it your new years resoultion and I'm sure it will pay off.

man, that's good, I burn 600 kCal on the bicycle, and that's about all I can handle for now

Gotta love the pain. It's a bitter sweet ache.
I'm heading back to the gym this week. I pigged out from christmas to now.

Raven 01-02-2006 07:26 AM

After having to take a month off because of surgery, I go back into training today.

For the last eight months, I've been married to the exquisite aches from body reformation.....and I can't wait to feel that soreness again....

Keep going, Scott....there is no finer feeling than increased mental acuity and physical fitness.

Yeah, I've been working out lately, too.

At first, the pain felt good but yesterday I was hurting bad...

sometimes it can be difficult to know how much is too much during a workout.

You can pay the price later, and end up throwing your whole routine off.

So, I'm throttling back a bit for a week or two in intensity...

it's hard to realize that I'm not in my 20s anymore.

First few weeks can feel terrible when you start.....and interruptions can be a bitch too....

After a while, the soreness is welcome.

Way to go! Did you lose some weight? As long as you don't stop doing it in 2 weeks.

ShaneRyale 01-02-2006 08:44 AM

Congrats Sleazy, I need to hit the gym myself a bit.

gornyhuy 01-02-2006 08:51 AM

Look its a thread full of fat asses who will stop working out in about 5 weeks after their new years resolution wears off.

The average is 4-5 weeks. It's a very profitable time for gym centers right now.. :1orglaugh

Theo 01-02-2006 08:54 AM

that's nice

im doing the exact same combination, but im wondering if cardio running and walking on same day has drastical results or i'm just wasting to much energy.

Nismo 01-02-2006 08:57 AM

This is what the gym owners call the "Gold Rush"
