Photo editing, can someone tell me how to get my pics like this...

Is there a way in photoshop or another program to make a picture like this from a digital picture? and what program?

sfera 12-15-2005 09:55 PM

adobe photoshop is my choice

frankthetank 12-15-2005 09:59 PM

How do you get the picture like this in photoshop?

frankthetank 12-15-2005 10:00 PM

This picture was apparently taken from a digital picture in an effects mode but cant find out how to get my pictures to come out like this picture...

Doctor Dre 12-15-2005 10:01 PM

Photoshop with a couple sharpen / blur plugins is my guess... and pencil cutout or whatever that is to make the black lines.

Maybe the guy used multiple layers too ...

Jace 12-15-2005 10:01 PM

photoshop cs2 has a great filters interface that does just that

wedouglas 12-15-2005 10:02 PM

look for some type of cel shading plugin

Promo Chicks 12-15-2005 10:03 PM

digital camera and a ugly stick

Nembrionic 12-15-2005 10:14 PM

frankthetank 12-15-2005 10:16 PM

Hey dude, I'll tackle this one tomorrow. I know how it's done but I am about to go to bed and don't have the patience to try and remember right now lol. Either bump this thread or hit me on ICQ tomorrow and if someone hasn't already shown you how, I'll go through it with you. If I remember correctly, it's just a couple filters run on duplicate layers and shit.

Try the artistic filters in Photoshop CS2

tristan_D 12-15-2005 10:32 PM

they did that in one digital indie film I saw, I think it was with Ethan Hawke

AmateurFlix 12-15-2005 10:41 PM

this is an essentially useless post just to get this thread to show up in my 'subscribed threads' link

pornguy 12-15-2005 10:42 PM

You want to make girls look like fat rednecks?

BV 12-15-2005 10:44 PM

in photoshp under the filter dropdown menu select artistic then poster edges

In photoshop, go to effects, hit poster edges, adjust to your liking.

CheeseFrog 12-15-2005 10:49 PM

Looks like a cell shading plugin...

thanks :)

it gets even more interesting looking if you perform this on a duplicate layer then adjust transparency

i guess my answer is good for 6.0 users and below , what version are you using?

johnnyhey 12-15-2005 11:28 PM

the real question should be "why on earth would you want your photos to look like that?" lol

Basic_man 12-16-2005 02:29 PM

The blacklines are probably hand made

latinasojourn 12-16-2005 02:50 PM

adobe photoshop can do that, might require a plug-in

Young 12-16-2005 02:52 PM

That is the ink outline STANDARD Adobe Photoshop plug-in.....30 webmasters before me couldn't figure that out?

frankthetank 12-16-2005 11:35 PM

fris 12-16-2005 11:37 PM

From the looks of the sample you posted, it looks like to me whoever did it probably did something like what I linked to above, and then "cleaned up" some of the noise in the outline layers with the eraser tool and added in outlines where they weren't connected with a drop shadow brush (In the brushes pallete dropdown menu select drop shadow brushes). You kind of have to fuck around with it to get the look you want but I think this link plus a few of the ones posted above should get you on the right track.
