you arent telling me anything.
i have worked with companies, specifically doing promo stuff that is NOT TO BE RELEASED to affiliates, as well as doing promo which WILL BE FOR AFFILIATES, and there has always been a distinction between the two.
Companies know this, I know this - having worked with companies and their programs for over 5 years now - you are correct - programs use their designs to gain affiliates as well. Which would be sort of like someone using the hype behind "amps" designs as a sell point to affiliates. look at how jason and Alex used amps name on their tours, no one needs to see a designer signature on tours.
anyone who has worked with traffic and maintaing clockthrough ratios knows that the "best design" done by the "industrys highest paid designer" doesnt mean shit in the end. That is mostly done to get affiliates.
This is why BYOT and alternate tours do so well becuase they are not done so much for the flagship (eyecandy) design - but to convert.
Ive been working with programs so long, some ask for two of things. One for affiliates, and one for in house promo and the affiliate stuff is always eye candy, and the stuff used for un house traffic generation is always much lighter on graphics, focuses on the content etc...
just like my tours

and its no doubt i left out all the eye candy and the bisexual tour is converting better than anything i have done. Was at 1:118 earlier this week and was only beat by 1 site for converting

i purposefully design my own personal stuff very stripped down and fast loading. fuck eye candy, it doesnt mean anything.
as a designer, and as someone who converts traffic. eye candy is worthless once your eyes are on the prize.
my site is #2 converting. and #6
