Gmail changes to Googlemail

Google changed the domain of it's email accounts to @googlemail.com. What's going on?

I have no idea. I have not signed into mine in 4 months.

Where did you find this, as I am logged into mine right now and see no notification etc and my email address still listed as @gmail.com

I believe this started in EUROPE, maybe it's moving to the USA.
Google in all their wisdom never thought to check for trademarks for GMAIL before moving forward with the name. :upsidedow

googlemail sounds more silly. so far I am not enjoying the features of gmail.
