You are correct I do not have over 5k in any of my bank accounts right now.
My personal account is at 4,980.69
My business transfer account is at 1,113.73
My promo business budget account is at 1,588.91
My rental account is at 2,244.78
My epass account is at .25
My paypal account is at 541.73

Now the personal account level is high for me. Normally it would be at 1,000.00 though I have some cash in there right now to pay an upcoming contractor who is due here on monday.
Very little stays in my bank accounts. For the most part it is transfered to higher interest accounts weekly.

I keep very little in bank accounts, a good portion in a few ING accounts and some miscellaneous here and there.

Well I have nothing to fear since I pay taxes on everything.
I just do not understand why anyone would really have a large amount in a bank account unless it is a payroll account or something like that.
I know my monthly spending and I know how much I need in any given account each month. Those amounts are transfered in on the 1st and typically the account will be back at 1,000.00 again by the end of the month. (I pick 1,000.00 since it keeps my banking completely free).
Each account serves a purpose. I also transfer any excess into a higher interest bearing account like ING, each week.
If your money is just sitting in a standard bank account it is doing nothing for you at all. For me everything must earn its keep, even my money needs to be working.

I just bought over 5k worth of Sirius stock just for shits and giggles.

Anyone else jumping on that before the Holidays and Stern comes.
